Black Mesa

Such a great game. I love how it teaches you through gameplay, and even on the earlier, more-linear levels, there are areas you can choose to explore or not, and alternate routes to achieve the goal. Just as you think you're settling in, something major happens and the location, atmosphere or gameplay changes. There are some fantastic set-pieces and some great bosses, and between these there is plenty of time to explore and parkour your way through the facility. The graphics look a little dated by modern standards, but the game is so immersive I didn't really notice. There is plenty of suspense, but the game never becomes stressful. The story isn't complex, but the pacing is great.

These twits somehow still haven't added an invert look option for controller. I shouldn't have to run third party software to play your game.

This was truly one of the best remakes of all time. The graphics have an unprecedented level of detail. Comparing it to the original, besides the layout and story you couldn't tell that this is the same game. I have a lot of good words for this game. First of all the weapons have very nice textures and every sound effect fits perfectly. The intensity of almost everything has been raised, truly giving the atmosphere that alert sensation. The Resonance Cascade is beautifully shown and the transition to the destroyed Black Mesa Research Facility is amazing. The game's weather really puts into perspective the passing of time and how the day ends by the time we reach the Lambda Complex. The smooth transition from the night to the colorful landscapes of Xen is astonishing. I do recommend this game for the visuals and gameplay and I'm looking forward to see the remakes for both Blue Shift and Opposing Force.
