Amazing fan remake of the original Half-Life. I recommend it to whoever likes Half-Life and wants to relive the game. I loved the way they reimagined the game in a very enjoyable way. The level design might require a more logical mind, but overall my playthrough was straightforward, maybe because I experienced the original first. The new Xen is an amazing achievement, the Crowbar Collective reimagined the exact section of the game that felt really underdeveloped and very bleak to me personally in the original. The new Xen gives you the vibes of an entirely new and different world compared to the Earth levels, which is exactly the feeling I needed from a remake. I'd also recommend watching the official two-hour development video from the team about Black Mesa's development. I found it interesting and began to notice how things work while playing. It's a fan-made game developed by fans, for fans. Also, I'm glad Valve licensed their project, this work deserved to be more than a modern mod.

Finally had a chance to play this game after having it in my library for years, It's a great remake of the already amazing game that is Half Life 1. On a Rail has major improvements that I really liked. Xen is absolutely gorgeous. With this being in the Source Engine, you get all the interesting physics puzzles that you get in HL2, although sometimes the physics can be infuriating and janky (like the damn ladders working the way I wanted like 10% of the time). The pacing does struggle at times. Interloper drags on a big too long for my liking with a lot of busy puzzles and platforming that didn't take much thought. Overall, absolutely worth playing along with the original.
