In BioShock 2, you step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as you explore through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7/day in the week to Aug 20 → 7/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Bioshock 2, like the original, was a game I played a lot when I was young and wanted to revisit. When I wasn't staring at my desktop after losing 30 minutes of progress, I was having a blast shooting my way through the City of Rapture. The gameplay of Bioshock 2 is very similar to that of Bioshock, except now we get to use plasmids and weapons at the same time, which I think is an improvement. Gives combat some more dynamics. Most the plasmids in this game are carbon copies of those from the first game, maybe with some additional abilities at their highest level. Weapons are much the same, with a couple design changes. Really the only new weapon of note is the drill, which is a blast to use once you get the drill charge ability. The story I think I like better than the first game, although it doesn't have as many dramatic moments. I'm a sucker for father/daughter tales. For the worst part, it's the crashing. I probably crashed a dozen or more time over the course of my 9 hour playthrough. The first time, I probably lost an hour of time. Most times after that it was 20-30 minutes of lost progress and this game only autosaves at the beginning of a level. I ended up binding quicksave to one of my mouse's side buttons so I could quickly save and move on. But it's real bad. I ended up switching the game to easy and powering through the last level because of all the frequent crashes. I also skipped Minerva's den after maybe getting a third of the way through. I just couldn't stomach losing so much progress so frequently. Long story short, great game but maybe play the original and not the remastered. I hear that is more stable.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 14: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I don't know why BioShock 2 gets so much hate. No, the story doesn't reach the same heights as the original, but it doesn't need to. It stands on its own and expands Rapture in ways the first game never could. Seeing the city through the eyes of a Big Daddy completely changes the feel of exploration, and the improved combat makes every encounter more satisfying. 2K Marin deserves more credit than they get. They took one of gaming's most beloved settings and resisted the urge to reinvent it. Instead, they refined it. Wielding plasmids and weapons at the same time, hacking without stopping the action, and the Big Sister encounters all make BioShock 2 the smoothest-playing game in the trilogy. If you loved the atmosphere of the first BioShock, this is less of a sequel and more of a return trip to Rapture with better gameplay. It may not have Andrew Ryan or one of gaming's greatest plot twists, but it offers a more emotional story than it's often given credit for and some of the best gameplay in the series. 9/10. Overshadowed by its predecessor, but far better than its reputation suggests.

Bioshock 2 is ridiculous because you control a Big Daddy whose health and skin are even weaker than those of ordinary humans or Splicers. I expected powerful, hard-hitting action with a heavily armored diving suit and a drill attack, but it was the exact opposite. It took me some time to get used to the controls, and the camera mechanic from the first game made combat even less immersive. The remastered version, just like the first one, doesn't offer anything special. It only increases the screen resolution while still being full of various bugs. I wouldn't really recommend it.

I enjoyed more than bioshock 1 even though i would say bioshock 1 has a better story - 10/10 dlc and amazing ending
De los pocos juegos que me han llegado al corazón.
Love this game. Story of Bioshock 2 and Minerva's DLC is better than infinite that up it's own ahh and contradicts itself (unless you buy the mixed af dlc). Crashes frequently tho. Gameplay is GOATed.
Never gave this a chance when it first came out, glad I revisited it Absolutely worth playing if you enjoyed the first game or Infinite. Some quality of life and gameplay improvements but shorter and a story that wasnt quite as captivating as the first game for me. But could totally understand why someone would prefer this or Minerva’s Den, which is also worth getting.
i love my big daddy
