Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good remasters cannot come at the cost of the original versions still being available. You're not going to strong-arm people into a more expensive version, you're just going to divert them into less legal avenues. Don't pay for hyper-inflation.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This is a much better remaster than it is given credit. I actually avoided this remaster for 2 years due to all the yapping on reddit, and I regret listening to them after playing it. It looks and runs great, without changing the story or altering the excellent soundtrack. I've played over 40 hours with next to no problems. Controller support is also under rated (with series X controller). Just all-round a good purchase. Sometimes you just gotta play it for yourself and not rely on word of mouth... as some people cant be pleased. Remaster aside, System Shock 2 still holds up btw... including the goofy "nah" lol. Never understood how this game flopped when new. Multiple weapons strategies makes replaying fun, the atmosphere is great, the soundtrack and ambient music works. I repeat myself, it's under rated.
OG delisted so ur forced to buy the overpriced remake. 27-year old game still feels 27 years old. The UI is STILL horrible and confusing. Movement & combat are super clunky. QOL = nonexistent.
Encountered a game breaking bug that is well known while playing with a friend (No spoilers but it's stops you progessing in the game closer to the end, a door does not open that is supposed to). It was frustrating to almost be finished with the game and then this happens. It's disappointing that that can still exist in a remaster from a reputable studio like Nightdive after their excellent remaster of System Shock 1. Therefore, I can't recommend this game in its current state.
Neat remaster, though my only gripe with it is that there's no way to disable new models/anims/icons/textures without breaking achievements and multiplayer + Was it REALLY necessary to delist the original SS2? Pretty scummy if you ask me Anyway, it's still good old system shock 2, and so still a blast to play :)
theres literally no reason for this to exist. sure its cool that they basically packaged a bunch of mods together and called it remastered but you could literally do it yourself with the original. but now that the original isnt even for sale on steam OR gog anymore genuinely either sail the seas for this one or plunder the original and mod it yourself. nightdive does not deserve $30 for doing nothing unless you want to play coop with a friend. i cannot believe that steam delisted the original AND "good old games" removed a good old game for 30 dollar slop thats just modded nonsense
I loved this game back in 1999! I was glued to my monitor for days until it was completed. Obviously when I saw the "remaster" I thought, wow, I could relive those moments again, with the summer sale, there was no excuse not to buy it. Unfortunately, it's the same game. Multiple people talking at the same time so you can't understand any of them. (That should have been the very first thing they fixed) and the graphics aren't that impressive for what you would consider "remastered". There are several other issues that I was like, "Wow, they didn't fix that either" --- I don't know what to tell you, this game has me nostalgic, but I had really hoped that they would have gone back and fixed the big problems, here's one, you are in OSA training for 4 years but you don't know how to fire a gun yet? You can't do simple hacking? What exactly did I learn those 4 years of training? Lastly, the MC is killed far too easily, it was a problem with the original and it's still a problem now.
Wish i could leave a neutral review. Remaster is good, simple changes to maintain the games longevity and put a bit of makeup on it, much prefer this to the sea of horrific "remakes" that the industry loves right now. I would have loved if the original just got a co-op update/fix but this is a close second. However i cant leave a positive review for straight up removing the game its remastering

You'll get several quality of life improvements, nice textures for almost everything (except the bloody writing on walls and blood in general -- you couldn't have improved that separately?), new audio that was cut from the original, nice new clean inventory images and UI scaling, etc. I love System Shock 2, it's one of my favorite games I've ever played. I could easily call it the best PC game ever made, despite it being unfairly & heavily overshadowed by the Bioshock series later on. The gameplay and character progression is really neat, and the plot, voice acting, writing, music and atmosphere are all amazing. With the creative style here, this should remind us how a computer game can be a brilliant work of art. Bioshock's more complex (and superior) ancestor. 10/10 (the game itself - not the remaster). System Shock 2 has an uncommon character and "soul" even after 25 years! Some of the music is missing in Deck 3 and Deck 4. Also, something else odd, I noticed that I found a couple of items that I somehow never found before in so many various playthroughs of this game (hate to admit it lol). Not sure if they randomly threw in a few additional things or I just missed it before. I had very recently posted a negative review for this because I was having some seriously annoying issues. I think I resolved it by adjusting a setting, although it may have not even fixed it. Updated: Oh, what do you know. It didn't fix it. I already somewhat regret changing my review to recommended for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ remaster. I've encountered an extremely annoying bug that seems to happen almost always where I'll get random left click inputs (usually it is holding left click for several seconds over and over) while also preventing left click inputs, either to fire or randomly open/close elements in the MFD/inventory screen. And sometimes it prevents the ability to access the pause/escape menu, etc and other annoying ♥♥♥♥ with the UI and game overall. I like playing on Impossible difficulty... but this time around, due to these issues it might be literally *impossible* to play the game normally due to it NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FUNCTIONING. Please update this.
