Man, no one makes 'em like Supergiant Games, huh? Bastion's been on my radar since around the time it released about 14 years ago. I figured it was time I finally play this and I'm happy I made that choice. Turns out it wouldn't be the only one I made. Bastion's built on choices and I'm not just talking about the ending. Your upgrades are all one of two options and you get to lean into each path as much as you want or mix it up entirely. Great stuff, I'm dying to play more games that handle upgrades in that manner! I also must confess seeing the world pop into place was deeply satisfying and I'd actively spend a fair bit of time going around the landscapes I traveled to just to make everything achieve its full level of detail. There's something about seeing everything connect that just made me happy. I'm definitely sticking with Supergiant Games. I'd already played and enjoyed the first Hades game quite a bit and I'm looking forward to trying out Transistor, too! Consider me a fan and a big one at that!

Bastion 6/10 Liked: - The vibe was neat, interesting choice in storytelling. Visuals were fine if not my style in some areas. - Weapon achievements and the trials for each one were a fun way to have me engage with the various playstyles. - Honestly, struggling to fill this section, most things were just sorta passible, nothing stands out. Thinking about what made me keep playing, I'd say the game does a good job of making me feel powerful while still letting me feel like I'm continuously improving. - Shield was fun, I'm a sucker for a counter mechanic. Disliked: - Controls were a little janky on gamepad - Environments were often hard to read - Far more weapons then felt necessary. Introducing them one at a time spread throughout the game, right up to the end, made them feel.... unimportant somehow? Also, forcing them on you when you find them was rather annoying. - Overall gameplay is pretty same-y, probably why they keep piling weapons on you trying to mix things up. Fun and short enough that it never felt like a chore, but looking back it feels like nothing special. Story was intriguing enough I guess.
its great. music is awesome. Game play is prefect.
Grandissima occasione mancata.
A game everyone should playthrough ones. Loved the gameplay, story, music and narration.
A tight little indie experience. Cool narration mechanic, nice art, good music, and a satisfying fantasy-esque story and worldbuilding. The addition of more-challenging content, like the dream sequences, is appreciated.
