In this city-building strategy game, you control a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland. The townspeople of Banished are your primary resource.

Reviews
A very nice, simple and straightforward city building game

TL;DR: Overpriced for amount of gameplay and features. THE UI is horrendous. It a good very basic micro-managing city builder. DO NOT BUY UNLESS ON SALE FOR $5 The Good: If you would like to try a game that is a micro-managing your city builder, which is fun, then this is the game for you. Its very rudimentary and enjoyable. Especially when you your population experiences mass grown. That is a fun hurdle to manage. There is a tutorial and then the game. Its basic, and a great way to explore this genre DEPENDING ON THE PRICE. The bad: THE UI is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious. You can have a building in nearly permanent limbo no matter how many laborers and builders you assign to the task. The prioritize feature is the most useless button Ive seen in a non early access game. I cannot describe to you how annoying the priority system in this game is. It can tank your game if you need food supply and the builders just refuse to build the location or upgrade a house. I should be able to make it the civilization, as a whole, their number 1 priority. Like to the point where the prioritize building this over eating and they die. LASTLY the price is way too high. this is not worth $20USD. Ive played better games for longer for half of that. if you catch it on sale for $5 then you can pick it up.
One of my all time favorite games. Good three song sound track, slow paced and fun achievements. If you ever get bored of any of those three the game allows you to still enjoy it without them (just use youtube for music and you will see a dramatic improvement) The game itself might require a small amount of knowledge ahead of time but once you figure out what works you can fairly easily replicate it across various playthroughs. The game has a variety of mods if you get bored of the vanilla version and a nice little community that still plays. Very fun game, worth the price even in 2026 [year of review if for some reason in the distant future steam removes timestamps for whatever reason].
stupid FAT people keep taking TWELVE ROAST CHICKENS HOME AND STARVING IN A WEEK WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE SO FAT
Its one of the best town builders ive ever played if not the best.
Pretty adictive. Cool game. However, there is not that much to do. After you succeed with the main part of the game, which is getting enough food, resources, tools, happy and healthy vilagers and mainly positive population growth, then there is nothing else to do. You just keep growing, with some random events from time to time. You will get more people, so you will have to get more resources and houses. That's all. It would be good to have good music to carry you during game...but it's meh. There is not much of interest of how people live or anything. Endless building. It was fun, I liked it, but after some time you will get bored, when you have no goal.
