I remember seeing the display at best buy when this game was nearing release back in the late 90s. I bought it on release day and have been playing it off and on since. It's a great game.

One of the best games ever
If you grew up playing the early iterations of Dungeons & Dragons, this is a very cool game. While it is dated and won't wow you with fancy graphics and POV roleplaying, it's a very solid digital interpretation of the old tabletop game. The biggest criticism I have of this game is actually a feature of the entire Baldur's Gate series: level-scaled monsters and NPCs. An orc should be an orc and a goblin should be a goblin. If you want a tougher humanoid, use Bugbears, Trogladytes, or Gnolls. 10th level party? Use minotaurs, giants, trolls. Otherwise, this is a pretty solid game with lots of cool plot and character development. Good stuff!
Absolute classic. The game shows it's age, but for it's time it was cutting edge. Get ready to feel the pain of starting off at first level in 2nd Edition AD&D...
