This is not like the old Axis and Allies. Very disappointed! Waste of money.
There is no way to see or roll your Defence attacks. You have to look through a combat log of each faction to see what happen to your units.
I downloaded this to play the classic board game with a few friends online. 4 years on, i'm in the community discord, trying to climb the ranked ladder and discussing optimal openers and lategame strategy. Probably could've learnt another language with the time i've spent on this game. Chess, but WW2 themed and with dice and enough uncertainty to add that extra element of risk management to every move. Can be a rough learning curve if you've never played the original board games before but simple enough that anyone can jump in. The online community is pretty active so there's always games going.
The game feels like it has ai bias with ai generaly being very agressive to the player and seeming to roll lower numbers than the player and ussaly getting out of tough situations even though they shouldnt have any advantage. and example of this is when i had 3 infantry attacking while the ai only had 1 infantry, i just needed to roll one 1 to win but i somehow only got high numbers over 3 while the ai rolled a 1,1,2. even if i used tanks instead i would have still lost. and that is what every other dice roll feels like. and the ai's aggression is dead center on a player, and it doesnt feel like my ai buddys are really helping with them mainly stacking troops up. i chose to play this game because i broke my arm and wanted something simple to control, and i ended up more stressed from this game due to the ai makeing me its ♥♥♥♥♥
I've always loved this game since playing the actual board game during my teen years. I do not like a lot of the changes in the game since the last version, but at it's core, it's still my favorite role-strategy game. I just wish somethings, especially when they aren't broke, would not be changed or altered. Overall, I would def recommend this especially if you've never played the board game or previous CPU versions. Awesome and fun game with a myriad of possibilities, outcomes and scenarios. Check it out!
A&A fans will enjoy this game. There are a few differences between the table top version and online. So temper your expectations to a 3.5 or 4/5 rating. It seems they have stopped patching or improving the game for the last couple years, so I'm not sure we can expect more improvements in the future.
like the board game but with the ability to play against AI/humans, sadly the AI is not strong enough for me :)
Game is not as polished as several free fan made ones, constantly crashes and now won’t let me friend make his 48 hour move half way into our game. Ruining the game
