Breeding prototype - A brand-new feature has arrived, breeding is now available! Choose your mare and stallion to create unique foals that inherit genetic traits from both parents. The genetics system closely mirrors real life, blending breed characteristics, body and head shape, and color genetics to produce one-of-a-kind offspring.
Watch your foals grow day by day as they mature into adult horses you can ride, train, and continue to breed. Build your own lineage and develop a pedigree of exceptional horses over generations.
Horse customization - The Astride Horse Creator offers an array of horse genetic options for you to discover. Select different breeds, heights, head shapes, mane, tail, and forelock styles, base coat colors, face and leg markings, multiple white patterns and different genetics, such as tobiano, splash, cream, grey, silver, and more to customize your horse's appearance. Observe how the various genes influence the outcome of your horse's coat and bring your dream horse to life!
Multiplayer - Whether you prefer playing with friends or riding out alone, Astride offers a multiplayer feature. Explore the environment with your friends or complete strangers. You have the flexibility to host private servers with passcodes for intimate gatherings or join public servers to meet fellow players from around the world.
Show jumping prototype - The initial iteration of the show jumping system is now available for testing. Observe how strides impact the horse's jumping capabilities and master the art of creating the ideal lineup for jumping. Select between a variation of training courses and timed courses and compete against your friends for the best time scores! Try out the cross country jumps placed around the country-side and challenge yourself in rough terrain! Stay tuned for additional updates to the jumping prototype in the near future.
Dressage prototype - The dressage prototype is now available in Astride. Choose between a few different dressage tests and gain scores based on how well you can stick to the program. Follow the path and switch gaits at the perfect moment. Perform movements such as canter pirouette, passage, and piaffe! Dressage is still in development and will keep getting updates over time.

I TRIED TO PLAY AND KEEP GETTING STUCK ON THE LOADING SCREEN:( i just wanted ti play a horse game!

Used to crash at start up and got stuck at loading screen for god knows how long, after it finally worked I instantly hated my life. It's beyond horrible, graphics feel like I'm playing a game from 2010. I've followed the development and progress on social media and thought it looked great- But it looks nothing like the content they have been showing us. It's boring and not worth your money and time. And since I spent most of my time on loading screen I don't meet the requirements to get a refund.
I love it so much. It is free play unlike other horse games, as in you don't have to have money, you don't have to do what anybody says its your own game
Background situation: I am a Kickstarter backer and was a Patreon supporter for a while. I tried to play the game during it's Early Access launch in 2023, but my computer could not open the game at all back then. I revisited it today. Would I recommend you buy Astride: only if you want to support the devs, and understand that you're not getting a real playing experience out of it right now. If you want to buy a game you can properly play, put your money elsewhere. First things first: the game now actually starts on my computer, which is a nice start. I like the in-depth options of the horse creator. The amount of customization is nice. I enjoyed making a horse. I like the music. For what it's worth, unfinished as it is, the world looks open and wide in a way that's inviting. It is enjoyable to canter around, at least for a bit. There are some courses and such to do, and you can breed, which is cool to try out. A day system has been implemented, which at least feels like we're inching closer to some sort of gameplay loop, even if the passage of time currently only relates to foals growing up. That's currently all there is to say, really. There isn't really a quest to kick off gameplay, or much to do outside some wandering, some jumping and breeding. The horse creator is the most fleshed out part of the game, but an introduction quest or any kind of gameplay loop would spark more confidence in playing the game. Currently, the main reason to play is if you can make your own fun in a sandbox setting. If that's not your thing and you want to play something now, I would hold off on buying and keep an eye on development. All my sympathy to the developers for the setbacks they faced and limitations they experienced. I know it hasn't been easy.
Honestly I don’t get the negativity surrounding this game, it’s very early access and don’t buy it if you want a whole functioning game. It’s not there yet. But its future and playability looks very promising to me. The showjumping mechanics are one of the best in horse game’s I’ve seen so far. The dressage isn’t at that level but you can see the promising foundation they’ve made. Honestly I see a bright future
