Breeding prototype - A brand-new feature has arrived, breeding is now available! Choose your mare and stallion to create unique foals that inherit genetic traits from both parents. The genetics system closely mirrors real life, blending breed characteristics, body and head shape, and color genetics to produce one-of-a-kind offspring.
Watch your foals grow day by day as they mature into adult horses you can ride, train, and continue to breed. Build your own lineage and develop a pedigree of exceptional horses over generations.
Horse customization - The Astride Horse Creator offers an array of horse genetic options for you to discover. Select different breeds, heights, head shapes, mane, tail, and forelock styles, base coat colors, face and leg markings, multiple white patterns and different genetics, such as tobiano, splash, cream, grey, silver, and more to customize your horse's appearance. Observe how the various genes influence the outcome of your horse's coat and bring your dream horse to life!
Multiplayer - Whether you prefer playing with friends or riding out alone, Astride offers a multiplayer feature. Explore the environment with your friends or complete strangers. You have the flexibility to host private servers with passcodes for intimate gatherings or join public servers to meet fellow players from around the world.
Show jumping prototype - The initial iteration of the show jumping system is now available for testing. Observe how strides impact the horse's jumping capabilities and master the art of creating the ideal lineup for jumping. Select between a variation of training courses and timed courses and compete against your friends for the best time scores! Try out the cross country jumps placed around the country-side and challenge yourself in rough terrain! Stay tuned for additional updates to the jumping prototype in the near future.
Dressage prototype - The dressage prototype is now available in Astride. Choose between a few different dressage tests and gain scores based on how well you can stick to the program. Follow the path and switch gaits at the perfect moment. Perform movements such as canter pirouette, passage, and piaffe! Dressage is still in development and will keep getting updates over time.

There's nothing to do. Literally nothing. Coat creation is limited, and even then, you only get to create your starter horse. Wanna buy an another? Press one button, no need to earn any currency, do any quests, no, just come up to the bulletin board (?) in a half-assed stable, choose "buy horse" option, and select the sex. That's it. Can't choose breed, height, or the exterior.... The horse you get can already do everything. Piaffe? Just hold two buttons simultaneously. Jump 150 without the horse ever been ridden before? Easy. No need for growth or any ingagement at all. The show jumping is pretty weird ingame, but that's fine. You'd usually have to press space along with the correct striding, but just striding and a correct angle is needed here. Feels underdone for some reason, and I got the feeling the focus is put on dressage. Which is why I'm gonna complain about it. The gaits are really good. Compared to St*r St*ble? God-like, even. The switching between them? Buggy, even if you use numerals for faster change, like the game recommends, instead of using key combos. It can take up to two whole seconds for the animations to change, sometimes even having to leave and rejoin because the horse keeps cantering in place, even after getting off of it. But instead of fixing bugs, optimising the game, adding new content, new quests, maybe even comps, we're getting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FRIESIAN. WHY IS IT WHENEVER A HORSE GAME STARTS GETTING LOW ON MONEY THEY ADD A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FRIESIAN. Do I want a Friesian? No. Do most players want a Friesian? No. Do YOU want a Friesian? If you're into inbred, criminally overrated basic-♥♥♥♥♥ horses which are not even THAT (or any at all) good at the dressage, 70% owners of whom make them do? Maybe. That was one hell of a sentence. YOU WILL PAY FOR SLOP AND YOU WILL LIKE IT

Early Access Demo, without the demo??? It's not early access, and there's little to no updates for it to justify as early access. They post somewhat monthly "devlogs" that provide you with no hope for the actual future of the game, and consist of pictures that showcase assets they are making for the game. Users want to see what you're making for the user experience. Visuals are important, but we're ready to see the full menu...think we've had enough of the appetizers. Until they provide any real update and roadmap to steam, I have to heavily recommend against purchasing this barely demo in early access.
I've backed this game on kickstarter a few years back. My profile picture is from this game, from the time when you could run for hours into the void which would result in a glitchy and deformed horse. That was the most fun I had in this game. Since then, they've added jumping, dressage and breeding. Jumping - I like the idea of adjusting your stride to make the horse jump but it's currently dull and buggy. Not fun. Dressage - Something that would be fun with more people but I don't have horsey gamer friends that would have good enough pc to run this game. Your horse is born with elite dressage knowledge skills and can do a piaffe when you sit on it for the first time. I would like to be able to train for the more advanced dressage moves. Breeding is actually somewhat fun, but managing horses in the stable is boring and frustrating due to bad UI. I like that they went for real coat colour genetics. The gene combiantions are well executed. This is the only well made part of this parody of a horse game.
The concept of Astride has a lot of potential, but the execution is incredibly disappointing. I understand it's in Early Access, but it has been for a long time, and there's still almost nothing to do, with no more than 40 minutes of unique gameplay before it gets repetitive. The tutorial is an information overload text pop up rather than a walk through, the controls don't feel intuitive (nothing about the game does, actually). There's no map to find things, there are no quests, there are no consequences to poor jumping etc. Breeding exists, but it's just 'press 3 buttons and see what comes out'. Buying a horse is just a 1 click button, which gives no customisation other than gender. I have 3 hours in this game because I've given it a chance on 3 different occasions. It's boring, and I should have just filed for a refund while I had the chance.
Game is EA, nothing has been done with it for 3 years. Released with more promised than there is in game.
This is my second time purchasing and playing astride now i would really like to say that i could recommend this game and that there are major improvements but unfortunately that is not the case. I can tell that there is a lot of passion behind this but over all it doesn't deliver much other than a single time horse creator and a environment to explore there's no real goals or progression .the world and environment feel quite hollow and the horses lack the depth id expect from a horse game. really this game shouldn't be in early access its quite simply not ready for it. Overall I would not recommend purchasing astride as its simply not worth the asking price.
I've really enjoyed the horse creator and breeding currently in this game. The horses not moving in their stalls and all spawning on the same axis creeps me out after a while and makes me feel like I've stumbled into the back rooms. If the horses walked around a bit by their own free will, interacted with each other and if I could put them out to roam in the paddock I would spend hours upon hours of my life playing this game. In saying this, I'd only recommend buying it if your happy to take a gamble on it getting finished and are happy to wait. Keenly following other games like Giddy up that look like they might overtake this one in developement.
The state of this game is horrendous. I used to back it on Patreon and lastly played it in January of 2025. Today I gave it a shot to see the progress but there is none. The human and horse models look ridiculous. I don't understand, why the devs would implement other breeds while everything looks so clunky and chunky and plain ugly.
In this game nothing happens since years. EA ok. But don`t take that much money for absolutly nothing. Horses look unreal. The Coat looks like plastic. The movement of the rider looks horrible too. The jumping arena looks nice but you just go right and left. The jump is automatic and always look like horse is jumping into the obstacle or behind it. The written news always call about the hard work to get stable and fences looking nice. Its nice to have beautiful stables .. but for what? It should be a game to play not a village looking good. So i put the game down.. wondering for what i was giving this money.
I TRIED TO PLAY AND KEEP GETTING STUCK ON THE LOADING SCREEN:( i just wanted ti play a horse game!
