Raf has left this game in the dust, never to be finished, after he raised $57k from two fundraisers to get it made, way back in 2014 (Kickstarter) and 2016 (Indiegogo). The game has since sold 70k copies, making well over $500k (possibly $1mil), yet it fades in purgatory as a buggy mess with no end in sight as it's been abandoned without update for over 2 years. He's jumped ship to work on his new project, War of The Worlds Game, because that is more profitable for him while this one slowly bleeds out and player counts dwindle. If you want to know more, I've made an in-depth YouTube series covering the story of FlipSwitch Games. -V

Game dev Refuses to finish this game, Even though he has pocketed nearly a million us dollars off of it. But according a conversation I personally had with Raf about Purchasing this game from him and finishing it, He claimed " I don't make enough from it to justify full-time development, But also a few minutes later said "It would have to be a significant number for me to let go of the game" and "I make a 2-3 Thousand a month in sales so if it's not more than 3-4 years of sales it's not a smart move for me. I had this conversation with him in July of 24. Since that conversation, According to Steam Revenue Calculator, He made netted another US$150,000. But yet, The game has not seen a single update since Jan 30, 2024. So, Raf. Where did all the money from the Early Access supporters go if not into the game? Why is this game still a broken, Very poorly optimized, piece of junk? Gross Sales ~3.2 Million US Dollars Net after steam fees etc. ~942 Thousand US Dollars
I really wanted to like this game, I've had it since it first came out in 2016. I pop in now and then to see the state but its just not playable, the devs are more focused on playing with their friends on huge servers that they host once in awhile instead of focusing on the game itself. The game has been dead in the water for some time, it's been almost 8 years and they still haven't even gotten the AI to work, yea the vehicles are good, the smoke it good, besides that, that's it. They haven't put any focus into the gameplay mechanics besides "Here's equipment and a fire". Game feels empty. I'm Sorry FlipSwitch, I backed your game and I've waiting for 7 years while you have made a multi million profit.
Development is dead, last update was a year ago and the dev isn't active at all in the community. Do not buy this game, it will never get finished
Decided to come back to this after a few years, and it looks and feels like nothing has been changed. Its a cool concept but still needs a ton of work. See you again in another few years...
December 2024 EmergeNYC is a game that is/was simply too big for the creator of it to handle. It has everything but the kitchen sink thrown in to it for the best possible firefighting experience which is good, the graphics look great and the sounds are fantastic too. But coding wise it is a piece of junk, it is almost NASCAR 21: Ignition bad and I hope that those who have brought into War of the Worlds get a better experience than EmergeNYC. The biggest problem was that more and more stuff was being thrown into the game when there was already a mess and if the old stuff and new stuff didn't work properly, gamers got nowhere with it. So buying this game is not recommended, it is no fun giving such recommendations but if you want a reliable firefighting game, you won't find it here.
The developers abandoned this projected to die, the latest update broke so many features, we're running on an update from 2024, DO NOT PURCHASE.
Dev abandoned game, half baked. Its a shame since it had a ton of potential too.
Eh, its fun with friends
