Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Before this game, I’d never really played anything with a samurai theme, but the pagodas, architecture, wind, and horseback riding made enough of an impression on me to get off my lazy ass and fly to Japan to see it all in person. I’m grateful to the developers for that —the story and characters have real heart in places—though I probably would have made the map smaller and focused more on the narrative and quests rather than the collectible-hunting that so many people complain about.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 5: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Latest in each market: best KR #35, worst CA #97 · 13 markets collected
US · last 30 days
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 20 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10.5 places towards #1, and the 2,491 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

So after 135ish hours (And about a year of real time passing) I finally completed the main story + most of the side quests (DLC Excluded) this game has to offer and ultimately I would recommend the game, but it is not without its flaws. All in all the gameplay Shadows offers is in my opinion a massive step up from the previous games, especially when it comes to stealth. You can go prone, which is completely new, lighting and weather impacts how easy it is for enemies to see or hear you, and there have been a few other tiny mechanics which I found pretty enjoyable. The "open combat" in this game is decent, but it mainly builds on the RPG combat formula they have set on ever since Origins, which is a shame if you preferred the way they've done it in Shadows or Syndicate for example. Along with the much improved stealth gameplay the biggest other positive the game has to offer is the absolutely massive and beautiful open world. It is full, lush and just flat out breathtaking. It actually feels alive and real in a way. The sound design helps a lot with that. Often times I've just found myself sitting still, closing my eyes and listening to the wind, the rustling of the leaves, cicadas singing or distant thunder, it is very well done. The amazing music the game offers, blends it all together. I played at maxed out settings and the graphics themselves are very good. At least as long as you don't look into the distance. Sometimes it felt as though some things in the distance didn't render properly and felt overall blurry. The same was the case with Naoe's Hair sometimes. It felt very weird. I tried to fix it multiple times but nothing worked for me so I guess this is either just the default, or some issue that I had specifically. The hideout and your ability to customize and upgrade it the way you wish is a super nice new feature, something that I would definitely love to return to in future installments and have Ubisoft build on. I'm also a big fan of the return of the codex, it helps a lot with learning about the time period the game is set in. I've read every single entry and they're all amazingly done. The Scans/Images of related Relics are a nice touch, that makes it even better. The story, is decent. I don't think it is as bad as some people say but it is also nothing extraordinary. Just kinda average, although there have been some moments that stood out to me personally. Overall I preferred to play as Naoe, and did so 95% of the time but I have to say Yasuke's Story was better, thought out and actually complete. It came full circle in the end. Naoe's conclusion, is nowhere to be found in the base game, I heard it is part of the DLC, but leaving something that should be part of the main game out of it and charge an additional 25 Dollars for it, is in my opinion a scummy business strategy, and not something I'm willing to support. With the latest patch, they have set themselves up to potentially continue the story of Yasuke, Naoe or an side character that could end up a protagonist. Which would be something that I would definitely welcome. My biggest critique with the game is that they have once more settled for the "Assassination Circles". And they basically make up everything there is to do. There is one for the main story, and about like 15ish for pretty much every side quest in the game. I don't think that is a great way to tell a main story at all and it makes all the side quests the same and just extremely boring and time intensive. You're mostly killing the same Enemies just with unique names over and over again and its stale, boring and feels cheap. It seems like its an way to artificially bloat up the game with content. However this is cheap content, I'd rather it not be there at all, if they refuse to do something properly. The other side quest content there was was pretty much only just "Collect x amount of this or that which is scattered all over the massive open world - no we will not tell you where it is" which is even more annoying. (I completed one of those, didn't bother with the rest) and the Animus rifts we've become used to which were... alright I guess, I preferred the real world sections in the older games. All things considered I would for sure recommend the game, especially considering I got it for maybe 30 Bucks during a sale and got so much game time out of it. Though I would advice you to not do all the side content as said before, its stale and boring and you don't really get anything meaningful from it. It's fun to do some of them, but doing them all is just a fast track to getting burned out with the game, which would be a shame, because I'm convinced its a lovely experience in every other way! :)
My favorite AC game in a long time!
