Assassin's Creed™ is the next-gen game developed by Ubisoft Montreal that redefines the action genre. While other games claim to be next-gen with impressive graphics and physics, Assassin's Creed merges technology, game design, theme and emotions into a world where you instigate chaos and become a vulnerable, yet powerful, agent of...

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Definitely still holds up, very beauttiful for a game this old What I did not like though, was the repetitiveness of the game During each memory segment what you basically do is synchronize & do missions(which are like 4 different type of missions), basically all the gameplay the game offers aside from some funny combat Couldn't really launch the game without installing some exterior fix.. Story's great though, and I see why the franchise continued

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Plays more like a proof a concept than is sequels, and takes a good bit of work to get it running, underneath all that is the franchise's unique blending of sci-fi and historical fiction that has made it popular with its fans.
This is the first Assassin's Creed game, obviously, and it's a damn good one IMO! Yes, the game can be pretty repetitive for sure, it's a great start for the series though. I love how each assassination is built up, and the "hide in plain sight" thing was so sick when I was younger! Altair is also an awesome protagonist and I can't wait to see how they developed him in Revelation!
I've been playing the series since ACII and didn't finish AC1 for decades. Since every other game after Ezio followed his lead, it was hard to go back to this one. AC1 actually does a lot of things very well, the protagonist Altair just strikes down targets a lot differently than his successors. For starters, both Altair's and Desmond's stories here are essential to fully embracing the Assassin's Creed universe. Altiar and his Masyaf brotherhood represent the Nizari Ismailis, the real 11th century assassins of modern-day Syria and Iran. This is the only AC game (so far) that focuses on them. It is set during the 3rd Crusade when both western crusaders and Sunni Islamic powers threatened their civilization (which is very true history), And although Desmond's story would become less popular in later games, it is a crucial cornerstone in AC1 for why this very specific Niazari Ismaili history spills over into the other Assassin's Creed games, and also why Ubisoft takes liberties with certain historic details. It disappointed me 20 years ago that you couldn't drop down on targets from overhead like Ezio, but honestly, that just isn't what type of assassin Altair is. And it's a little easier to see that now with all the other featured assassins since. But Altair is ALL about brazen attacks that terrorize everyone in sight, then running like hell. He's not much for discretion and that's how you should play as him. With that understood, I enjoyed the game a lot more than I previously did. Though it very much feels like the first game of a series. The side quests and NPC dialogue is repetitive, it feels like a grind trying to progress at times, and there aren't any achievements. Altair's free-running also feels extremely clunky compared to Ezio's in the very next game, so it requires a little more patience and precision on jumps. It isn't anything game-breaking, but Altair can feel very clumsy at times. Throwing knives are useless, rarely hit anyone I threw them at. The only disapoointment was how safe Ubisoft played it with the Western Wall and Dome of the Rock. The Wall is overgrown with roots and looks ridiculous. Temple Mount is accessible, but you don't actually go inside the temple or find a secret tunnel underneath it, nothing like that. Ubisoft was very careful there. It isn't my favorite AC game, but it's still very much worth a play in 2026
