Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Jul 21 → 1.2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Needs a ubisoft login which I missed on the store page and I honestly did not expect such a ridiculous requirement for a game this old. Anyway ubisoft connect keeps crashing for me and there is no way around using it, offline mode requires you to log in first because logic... Refund was denied because I made the request 2 weeks after purchase so now I can't do anything with this because of ubisoft's garbage. If you are interested in Anno 1404 rather check out the DRM-free Anno 1404: Gold edition from GOG or anywhere else that does not support this kind of behaviour.
Strict requirement for Ubisoft Connect upon every launch... for a 17 year-old game.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 24: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The game is good but UBISOFT CONNECT IS PURE SH*T ! WHY DO I HAVE TO LOG IN YOUR STUPID PLATFORM, I'M ALREADY CONNECTED TO STEAM YOU C*NT
I really want to thank Ubisoft for wasting my time and not allowing me to play a game I paid for in the evening when i wanted play it again after 4 years. They deleted my Ubisoft account and created a complete mess with licence and connection between steam and Ubisoft. Total garbage and waste of my time, totally unnecesary
Technically, it's a very good game, but the plot of the campaign: Christians are bad, Muslims are good...therefore negative
The game is great but why does it need the Ubisoft launcher? It just adds extra hassle to an otherwise great game.
Anno 1404 - History Edition is, in my opinion, still the best entry point into the Anno series and one of the finest city builders ever made. It strikes a near-perfect balance between accessibility and depth. The game can certainly be challenging, especially once production chains start expanding, but it never feels overwhelming. There is always another problem to solve, another island to settle, or another trade route to optimize, and that's what makes it so addictive. One of the things I appreciate most about Anno 1404 is how approachable it is. New players can learn the basics without too much trouble, while experienced players still have plenty of room to optimize and create massive, efficient empires. The pacing is excellent, allowing you to slowly expand your civilization while introducing new mechanics at a comfortable rate. The campaign deserves special mention as well. It does a fantastic job of teaching the game while telling an enjoyable story. Unlike some strategy games that treat their campaigns as little more than tutorials, Anno 1404's missions are memorable and genuinely fun to play. They provide a great introduction to the game's systems and are still worth revisiting even after learning the ropes. Another aspect that often gets overlooked is the co-op mode. While the campaign itself is single-player, free play with friends is incredibly easy to set up and surprisingly painless. Sharing control over the same empire, planning production chains together, and slowly building up a thriving civilization creates a very relaxing and enjoyable multiplayer experience. Few city builders handle cooperative play this smoothly. The History Edition itself is also a fantastic package. Performance improvements, support for modern systems, and all of the original content make it the definitive version of an already excellent game. Better yet, it frequently goes on sale for very little money, making it one of the best values in the strategy genre. Even after all these years, Anno 1404 remains timeless. It may not have the complexity of Anno 1800 or the futuristic setting of some other entries, but it nails the fundamentals so well that it never gets old. For anyone interested in city builders or management games, I honestly believe this is the best place to start. It is a classic that deserves to be remembered and celebrated for many years to come.
Ubisoft just killed "Stop killing Games" in the EU, thx for that!
