From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.

Reviews
writing is much worse than TDD and the game has a lot of bugs and crashes

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really surprised by how much I liked this. The gameplay is certainly less important to this game than in The Dark Descent, but I found the story of this one almost more interesting. It's also very short, which is a good thing to me but maybe bad to others. The pigs scared me quite a bit as well, and there's some great and subtle psychological horror tricks the game uses at various points that honestly had me questioning if I was imagining it. I would recommend this if you like horror games and want a game with more of a focus on the story and less on gameplay. Only flaw was some cheap-ish jumpscares but they weren't too common. Very underrated game in my opinion.

I have stood knee deep in mud and bone and filled my lungs with mustard gas. I have seen two brothers fall. I have lain with holy wars and copulated with the autumnal fallout. I have dug trenches for the refugees. I have murdered dissidents where the ground never thaws and starved the masses into faith. A child's shadow burnt into the brickwork. A house of skulls in the jungle. The innocent, the innocent, Mandus, trod and bled and gassed and starved and beaten and murdered and enslaved. This is your coming century! They will eat them Mandus, they will make pigs of you all and they will bury their snouts into your ribs and they will eat your hearts!
Although quite short, A Machine for Pigs is a brilliant and beautiful game, insanely overshadowed and underrated over its predecessor. Sure, its not the usual Amnesia experience, but its such a genius and original concept that you should, atleast try once. They will make pigs out of us.
Very overhated game, Although it does admittedly lack in gameplay compared to Dark Descent, essentially being a walking sim, I think the story and visuals are great. Dark Descent's story and visuals are great too of course, but I personally was pulled into this game's story more than the original game's.
Neither a good game nor a horror game at all. Boring walking simulator gameplaywise and too long for what it is. 10/20. The setup and story are not bad, but the game has a tendency to use too many words to express everything, from the enormous amount of letters and notes to the dialogues, every sentence is so obtuse and tedious to read. The gameplay lacks a lot of interactivity elements compared to the first game, the puzzles are not clever or interesting, nor meaningful but since you have just a few interactable elements in the game you usually pass through the puzzles etc.. without even noticing just click on every interactable object and that's it. Conclusion it's not bad, but not good at all.
