It's not that the game is terrible, just insanely overrated. It's one of the highest rated games on steam but is incredibly janky, ships struggle to follow orders and all pilot like everyone on board the crew is drunk. Just moving in a straight line is a genuinely difficult task for the AI, if there is any potential obstacle they will collide with it even without having taking damage first. Most of the time you will need to move your ships diagonally but for some reason the AI will prioritise one direction much more than the other so even if you intentionally give them enough space to move around obstacles rather than go to their destination in a relatively straight diagonal line they will either fly at an almost horizontal angle before rising almost straight up or vice versa slamming into your other ships or floating rocks that aren't anywhere near the path they should be taking. The maps are all randomly generated but after a few games they all just feel the same and your start is so random in both starting area and your starting ship that the initial difficulty at the start can spike massively. Not receiving a budget to design and build your first ship is a mistake, you can start with a borderline useless ramming ship or a heavily armoured flying fortress with enough guns to take out a series of lightly defended settlements unopposed. Getting good RNG at the start makes way more of a difference in difficulty than the actual difficulty options.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The fact this game was released in 2018 and has only been improving ever since really speaks to the developers commitment to this game. It's nearly 10 years later and this game is STILL getting updates. This thumbs up is for the commitment alone, but this game is definitely worth it if you love building ships and blowing them up into pieces.
High fleet
just played it nonstop for 10 hours after getting it. its really, really, good
БОЕЗАПАС ВОТ-ВОТ РАВНЁТ!!!
very good game, designing airships/landships and seeing them duke it out, then fixing the flaws in that vehicle to create the best vehicle you can is very fun, managed to get several friends to buy the game, 10/10 would recommend
I can't believe that in 200+ hours of playing this game I've forgotten to review it. here's my review: This game is amazing, more difficult than it at first appears, and just an absolute delight.
I pirated this game back in 2023 after watching a youtuber play it Recently i bought it and in 1 day ive racked up 7 hours this game is addicting I just wish there was a way to make the map bigger then it is
75 hours in, and I've gotten more joy out of this game than most others I've played in recent years. It's rare I put so much time in a title, I've got a bad habit of playing 5 hours in a game and moving on to the next shiny thing, but this one made me stick. The unique fantasy / steampunk / napoleonic setting is really appealing, and the amount of creative freedom is insane. If you can think it, you can logically design any air or land ship the way you envision it. The conquest mode is really fun, but what keeps me coming back is all the new ships I could think of to alter my the campaigns play style. Lot's of options to choose from, and the diplomacy feature is simple, but effective. You don't have to be the classic, conquer everybody empire if you don't want to. You can trade and share research with other factions, form alliances, and win by you and your allies controlling the map. In my latest run, I was "loved" by the other's empire AI, and controlled much of the map, despite almost never enacting a war. Winning as the defensive, diplomatic "good guy" was really satisfying, and made me feel more connected to my characters faction. There is also a slew of unique faction perks you can choose from to enhance or alter your play style. I hope the dev adds more faction perks in the future, as well as adding more diplomacy options like trade sanctions as a mild threat, making the trade treaties more one sided.
