About
States of Power is a Grand Strategy Wargame where you command your nation's armies, economy, and diplomacy. Easy to start, but hard to master - no hours of tutorials just to start playing, and a full match fits in one session. The game is designed for smooth singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay with deep customisation. Control a World War II era nation of your choice - or create an entirely new setting with the built-in Scenario Editor and share it with others.
Command every division directly. Build an army tailored to your strategy - infantry, tanks, artillery, fighter planes, and more. Each unit excels against some and falters against others. Adapt to shifting frontlines and avoid overstretching your supply lines.
You don't need to watch hours of tutorials or read a wiki just to play your first game. States of Power is built to get you onto the map and making meaningful decisions within minutes, while still rewarding the mastery, planning, and bold gambles that strategy veterans crave.
With the built-in Scenario Editor, you can easily create custom countries, redraw borders, design entire scenarios, and script your own events - alternate histories, what-if conflicts, fantasy worlds and anything you can imagine. No external tools, no modding headaches.
When your creation is ready, publish it to the Scenario Browser for the whole community to download, rate, and play.
Develop your provinces with factories, research labs, ports, and infrastructure. Balance your economy - construction, goods, military supplies, and manpower, take loans, trade on the world market, and push your industry to its limits. Climb a technology tree from early-war infantry weapons all the way to the atomic bomb. Choose your nation's ideology - Democratic, Authoritarian, Communist, or Fascist and reshape your country through reform or civil war.
Form alliances for survival or manipulate others before betraying them. Guarantee independence, sign non-aggression pacts, send “volunteers” to foreign wars, or quietly prepare for war. Multiplayer diplomacy is fast and brutal - with global and private messaging built in, your words are weapons too.

It is funny, but Taiwan is part of China. I hope the official side can make revisions, please. There is no country called Taiwan. It is impossible for such a country to exist. I uphold the one-China principle and will not accept any refutation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not intervene in China during my gameplay, so why did it end up collapsing? If this is the preset storyline of the game, please revise it. PLEASE!
game is good but i cannot recommend a game where the dev is an absolute tool. i brought a problem to his attention. was super polite.... his response was "i don't believe it. that cant happen". Ai pathfinding is broken and until he adds a frontline tool to fix the issue it will only get worse. late game wars become micro-managing nightmares. Troops rotate and go into warship infested waters rather than take the safe path on land lol they will take the shortest path rather than the safest path. but according to the dev that just isnt possible. so what i saw was just a hallucination lol. again game is good. the dev isnt

Great game, followed it since the start of development, basically HOI4 from Temu. Which is a good thing as you don't need to micro manage every single aspect of the game and can be run on a potato.
I don't review many games, but I'm leaving one here because I need this game to blow up. It's everything I've been looking for in a map painter game. I have a job, so games like HOI4 or EU4 are just way too much info and have too many systems to be enjoyable for me. If you never cared about things like managing characters or religions and simply enjoyed managing units and an economy, then this game is PERFECT for you. That being said, if the dev reads this please, please, please address sone of the QOL features such as: 1. The recruitable population system, while realistic, makes it impossible to play as a small nation. I conquered England and half of europe as Ireland, but there's no physical way to stand up to the bigger powers because my population stays based on Ireland, making it so I can recuit like 10 units while other nations have dozens. Changing it so you can convert provinces to core provinces or just straight up giving you the population of conquered countries would be a massive help for those smaller countries. 2. Adding more modding tools that let people change the physical map (like making fictional worlds) and reskin units for different time periods (like a napoleonic era or even medieval) would add tons of replayability. Even if all the underlying systems remain exactly the same, just having soldiers looking like different time periods would be cool.
Good Game, but lack of manpower makes it almost impossible to play as the smaller countries. I cant conquer the world as Finland because i can never have enough manpower to fight the big countries.
This would be best said to be heart of iron 4 streamlined, its very good at scratching that itch and gets you into the fight fast.
I think this game for sure has positives likes the customization of the game which is pretty good. And a sandbox where you can in theory play as any country you want. However playing around with this game for nearly two hours now i must say that there are some things that irritate me. which i will list now: 1. I dont like how you instantly start playing as the nation you click on the selection screen, i think there for sure should be a cofirmation screen which asks you if you are sure you want to play as said country 2. There is no peace conferance, which might seem like a small thing from the surface but i promise its not. Not having a peace conferance means that you would need to invade the whole country in order to claim all its land, but also if you win a war you just gain the land which you were standing on which is not great as this can create some insane border gore. 3. I think the AI needs to be nerfed a bit. Especially when playing as small country its nearly impossible to catch up to the biggers countries. like the second you invade your smaller neighbours a big country will be knocking on your door, which there is not much you can do to prepare for that, and i get that as its realistic, but at the same time its a sandbox and you should not need the editor to make that expereince easier for yourself. The game is not bad in all honesty i do actually like it and i see myself for sure playing it more. But i really hope this game actually keeps getting developed as i think there are a few fundemental changes that need to be done before i can give this game a positive review. This review is written the day after when the game came out so this is just my first impressions, I am only criticizing because i want this game to be what it advertises itself to be, which a ligther version of a paradox game.
