A Caelo Ad Terram.
For centuries the Protectorate have been the stalwart defenders of humanity’s ventures through the Orion Arm, guarding against enemies foreign and domestic of the United Earth Spheres. As humanity’s galactic infrastructure teeters on the brink of collapse over a deficit of the resource “flux,” the Protectorate brings honed tactics and heavy firepower to bear. Field veteran commandos to deep strike enemy positions, or bring the heavy firepower of your mech divisions to break enemy lines.
Grow. Expand. Exterminate.
The Grell are a tide of highly evolved plant-like creatures that spawn sites of raw flux crystals through the galaxy, and humanity’s first contact with alien life. As external powers dive deeper into exploiting flux for faster than light travel, the once passive Grell have begun to flood across worlds, wiping out those who would threaten their biosphere. Expand your blooms by spreading the roots of your biomass across the battlefield, and rip apart your enemies with twisted evolutions from the acidic Harbinger to the rampaging Reaver.
Across a Million Worlds, We March.
The Legion of Truth are a fanatical empire from beyond the reaches of known space, devoted to their Emperor and a pantheon of god-like beings. Their armies crusade across the cosmos, bringing all in their path under the Idals, and purging those unwilling or unable to accept the voice. Drown your enemies with waves of expendable Thralls and Fanatics, and break your enemy under the treads of the titanic Terror Tank, a mobile fortress that can reconfigure with the tide of battle.
For Purpose. For Survival.
The Xol are civilization of autonomous robotic consciousness, brought to the brink of extinction by the dark crusade of the Legion. Though fiercely individualistic, they are united by one imperative: survival. As the tide of annihilation turns against them, the Xol will bring the most advanced robotics technology in the galaxy to bear, wield the accumulated genius of their society, and wipe out all who threaten their future.

I want a middle thumb its needs some serious time in the oven. TLDR. Great concept and unit design, Campaign is painful, UI/ Tools need work. Pros -The concept -What it can be -Unit design Con -Cut scenes and talking to characters between missions is painful -The story kinda hurts so far and its pretty immature/ a bit too cliche. -Character models have some of the facial issues that are infamous. It wasn't as bad as some but its was just enough. -Galaxy map also needs some quality of life maybe a hut / tracker / some tools I have really high hopes for this game. Right now with its price point and the issues it has I just can't support it. If there is a suggestion to be made its to clean up the campaign maybe watch some highly rated war movies/ series/ Prior games that are adjacent. It's not so much what the characters say though that needs work but the delivery and tone.
As with stormgate, released way too early

One of the Buggiest Games I have ever played. Nothing seems to work right and everything besides unit movement feels very very clunky. Cannot Bind any of the Hotkeys, other settings locked and nothing seems to respond. Refunded.....
Whatever problems you have with previous RTS this game probably solved them. Quality of life EVERYWHERE. It's not perfect, but it's so fun and again fixes many complaints from other RTS. Can que up buildings before you have resources so it just auto builds when you have the money for it. 1 button to build production of anything all buildings together. 1 button for all research broken down by unit so easy to see what upgrade to pick for what unit no guessing. Aggression is rewarded so turtling is punished making games more fun and never boring. With either or talent and upgrade options with so many races and mercenary options you can play 10 games in a row against the same person even with the same build and it would feel different if you swapped mercenary or talents. Have the ranked 1v1 or 2v2 option with also AI and Co-OP. Also, the galaxy war is really cool. Haven't touched campaign yet, but galaxy war alone is worth the price could play for 50 hours. tl;dr Game is very fun and easy to play.
Horrible horrible UI. 16 years later this game managed to have a worse UI than the 2010 game that is SC2. Unit icons in selection are so small you barely tell which is which. Unified abilities tab is great, but many of the abilities lack a range preview, like the jump pack or the heal burst, both of which are available starting from mission 1. Armory fails to show the whole text when you select an upgrade, also no indication that upgrades are mutually exclusive. No info on what the hero does in the hero selection tab (how tf am I supposed to decide who to use??). Damaged units' health bars hoes NOT linger when you select the 'damaged' option for health bar display (wtf, you had one job!). Also, this game has no brightness/gamma slider or I can't find it. Mission 1 happens to be dark asf just to complement this feature (or the lack thereof). It would not have been a tall order to implement this. Also, is it me or can you not make manual saves in the campaign? I had a crash in mission 1 and lost all progress, good thing the mission wasn't very long. I was genuinely thrown off when I was about to reach the same point and tried to save just in case - well I guess saving just isnt a thing here. Last but not least - the Chinese localization clearly had zero(0) person to proofread it. It's currently worse than if chatgpt did the whole translation work. THERE ARE 英语 WORDS LEFT OVER IN THE 翻译后的 CHINESE TEXT. Did the Chinese words in there catch you off guard? Yeah, I thought so too. The leftovers are in various places and inconsistent (as in the same word is not always left untranslated), so it's very clear these aren't intentional. It's literally stated on steam store page this this game has, get this, FULL TEXT in Chinese - when in reality it doesn't. Tempest Rising did a great job at this on launch and I don't remember any similar issues. This game in its current state requires some extent of telepathic powers to play. Because why else would the devs omit so much essential information? So I'll just non-telepathically refund for now and be back when that requirement is lifted. Peace.
Solid concepts all around, netcode is good Debatably worth it, emphasis on the 'early' part of EA.
This game is very promising. Whats there of the campaign is enjoyable, as is the Galactic Conquest mode. But be aware that this is proper early access, not just a preview of a finished product. I'd say right now the asking price is a bit much for what is there, but if they follow through on what they promised it will be.
I like the game, but it needs more development, like there are bugs that can be catastrophic to gameplay, such as a recent one I discovered, after maxing out my dreadnaught ship, with tempests it became immovable, after attempting to move it with a warp tower, it just decided.... to exit the map at mach speed. But additionally, on how the game runs, it runs pretty well, but unfortunately, it has the tendency to use more of your computers resources than it actually needs to run, which causes your computer to work overtime, for a game that does not need that much to run. Maybe its like "there's a potential for more thing" but I think it runs pretty smoothly, and just needs more optimization, because sometimes when units are attacked, you are unable to cast immediate abilities which removes the responsiveness you want in the midst of combat, which is quite chaotic, as models overlap, pushing each other aside, creating a scene of little to no response time. But all-in-all, it's a pretty good game, I don't think its ready if there are foundational issues, especially with units just... straight up becoming uncommandable though, or the game itself freezing due to your computer not being able to supply the amount of memory or processing power to the game.
ZeroSpace feels like a really fun blend of ideas. It doesn't oversimplify it's macro, nor skip out on the micro of army units - and yet, it doesn't make either a singular point of focus. Whilst I haven't dove into the game at depth yet, from what I have played and numerous hours I've watched so far, there's so much room for strategy and builds, and doesn't seem to be so lightning fast that one mistake leads to a loss. It's more unique blend of ideas is the Faction, Mercenary, Hero choices that influence every game. It's really simple to grasp, and very easy to use, but it opens up a bunch of possibilities to explore. It's not demanding of you either, if you're newer to RTS or returning after a long time (like me!), and the abilities, all that I've used so far, are very intuitive and fun to use. As Grell for instance, a plant faction, you can get a 'top bar' ability (think Co-op in SC2) that can summon a Tree of Life which revives and heals friendly units. ~ For more hesitant folk, yes, it's in Early Access. It's understandable that folk are weary about investing time and money into a title that's still in development, especially after we've seen a number of them get cancelled or make it to release with so much missing (whoops, Stormgate). There's no promise that it'll survive and be the one to make it, but if you're on the fence, I would recommend giving at least the tutorial and a few games or campaign missions a go to see if the basics are for you. I will add, the developers have said the following in regards to funding (posted by their official account on Reddit: 'Now that the dust has settled from the initial Early Access release, we're able to share that our sales have been strong enough to fund development costs through our 1.0 release. 'Continued sales throughout Early Access will enable us to invest further into the game; growing the team, producing more content and features, and improving the game at a faster pace. On that note, the game hit 300K wishlists on Steam, which is fantastic. It shows the RTS genre isn't 'dead' or 'dying' the way it's often described. Broodwar will live forever, SC2 still has an active playerbase, and multiple Age of Empires titles are succeeding, and that's not including many other titles out there. The genre hasn't gone anywhere, it's just not all under one roof the way it felt many years ago during the height of Starcraft. And, sure, there's nothing close to 300K people playing, but it shows interest, and it's only by people giving the game a shot and engaging with it that it, and the RTS genre, continues to grow. I'm sure there's a bunch of folk waiting for full release before they buy, which makes sense, but I'm writing this just in case you're like me - on the fence - I was, and I think it's only when you get your hands on how an RTS feels and sounds that you know if it's for you. I did, and I'm out of touch and out of skill, and I'm having a great time :) ~ As one final point, if you're simply looking for Starcraft 3, it's not that, and I don't think it's trying to be. It might be the closest we ever get to it, since the legendary Blizzard of old, and the wizards behind SC2's golden days are long gone (and even when some of them tried to unite, and had millions in funding, it didn't work too well. oopsie poopsie Stormgate). Jokes aside, there are similarities to Starcraft, it's hard to escape comparison to a genre-defining title, but there's interesting differences, and they're worth exploring! If people are forever huffing the hopium of 'the next Starcraft', they'll always be disappointed when something different comes along.
For a new game the mechanics is quite old . the camera angle zoom out is not good , population limit is not good .
