About

Brilliant, burnt-out, possibly cursed – you play as operant Hershel Wilk, alias CASCADE. Five years ago you led your team into the abyss and have been haunted by your failures ever since. Now you've been recalled for a mysterious assignment that may give you a chance to prove yourself again.

Uncover secrets hidden in the lost corners of the city and within your own mind. Navigate a murky world of potential informants and adversaries. Pass skill checks to uncover their true motivations through subterfuge, violence, or deduction. As an operant, there are multiple ways to approach every problem - your choices and methods will be your own, and so will the consequences.

Find yourself thrown into a three-way struggle for cultural and ideological power, played out across an unforgettable city. You'll go up against international bankers, foreign techno-fascists, psychic doppelgängers, a paranoid TV presenter, a man with a box for a heart, and dozens more. Everyone you meet has their own agendas, beliefs, and secrets for you to uncover and turn to your own ends. In ZERO PARADES, even the world itself is a character with its own secrets, traumas, and miracles for you to discover.

Operants subject themselves to years of psychological training to hone their minds into their greatest weapons. Do you favor animal-like reflexes, a philosophical approach, or a different cover story for every occasion? Through Conditioning, you'll turn the deepest aspects of Hershel's identity into potent abilities and unlock new paths forward. You can even change the rules of the game itself.

Pressures simulate the physical and psychological toll of being in-theatre. Exertion pushes dice rolls in your favour – just remember that you’re gambling with your life. Keep your Fatigue, Anxiety, and Delirium in check or deal with the long-term repercussions.

In this line of work you're going to fail way more often than you succeed. That much is expected of you. What matters is how you pick yourself back up. If the dice don't go your way (and they won't) you'll have to improvise and hope the consequences are ones you can live with.

POETICS RED CHECK [16] 15/16 FAILURE Its uhm... you know. You can play the thing, take your mind off the dawning realisation that the world is collapsing onto itself. THOUGHT VIOLATED All jokes aside, I really enjoyed the game. You can't really measure it up to any other game than it's predecessor. This is the big sister of Disco Elysium that takes the detective part more seriously. Found this one more fun and engaging and actually felt like I knew what I was doing. Harry was a raging alcoholic trying to set himself straight, viewing his case as the last chance to get his life together. Whereas Hershel is a sarcastic horny ♥♥♥♥♥ bathing in self pity just being honest most of the time, looking to redeem herself and completing the task even if it means working for the enemy. Well now let's actually get to playable part of the game. I was happy with how many various improvements they added. I was a big fan of fast travel and easier map navigation. Reworked thought internalisation system was a lot more manageable in terms of advancing skills while exerting yourself to have a higher chance at success was an amazing addition. Some may not agree with me, but I viewed simple day jobs to earn money and no need to pay for a place to sleep as definitive upgrades. Loved how each critical objective had two different approaches that let you decide a couple side characters' fates. This includes scenes where you need to make fast decisions, they were more frequent and let you choose between two skill checks for a bigger chance or an objectively better decision. Really enjoyed the absolutely amazing soundtrack, even better voiceovers than before, the graphical improvement in menus and as always, tons of fun missable dialogue that still adds depth to interacting with NPCs. The world feels more alive, you can see people walk around, chatting together or sitting at a bench. "Luck and skill, operant."

I think it is improvement over disco elysium.
В цілому, достойний духовний наслідник Діско Елізіума
Well worth the adventure with an interesting story and nicely realized world. You can see how different approaches can take the narrative and leads to multiple runs. Even if unlucky with the roll of the die the results in can lead to better ends in return. Choices can be tough toward the end but a satisfying conclusion none the less. Would recommend for the above and the style in which it was presented. It has its obvious similarities but a different experience than its spiritual counterpart (Disco Elysium).
Great game. Don't care about all that ZAUM drama, it's new game from new people, and it's good.
It is not Elysium.
