About

Brilliant, burnt-out, possibly cursed – you play as operant Hershel Wilk, alias CASCADE. Five years ago you led your team into the abyss and have been haunted by your failures ever since. Now you've been recalled for a mysterious assignment that may give you a chance to prove yourself again.

Uncover secrets hidden in the lost corners of the city and within your own mind. Navigate a murky world of potential informants and adversaries. Pass skill checks to uncover their true motivations through subterfuge, violence, or deduction. As an operant, there are multiple ways to approach every problem - your choices and methods will be your own, and so will the consequences.

Find yourself thrown into a three-way struggle for cultural and ideological power, played out across an unforgettable city. You'll go up against international bankers, foreign techno-fascists, psychic doppelgängers, a paranoid TV presenter, a man with a box for a heart, and dozens more. Everyone you meet has their own agendas, beliefs, and secrets for you to uncover and turn to your own ends. In ZERO PARADES, even the world itself is a character with its own secrets, traumas, and miracles for you to discover.

Operants subject themselves to years of psychological training to hone their minds into their greatest weapons. Do you favor animal-like reflexes, a philosophical approach, or a different cover story for every occasion? Through Conditioning, you'll turn the deepest aspects of Hershel's identity into potent abilities and unlock new paths forward. You can even change the rules of the game itself.

Pressures simulate the physical and psychological toll of being in-theatre. Exertion pushes dice rolls in your favour – just remember that you’re gambling with your life. Keep your Fatigue, Anxiety, and Delirium in check or deal with the long-term repercussions.

In this line of work you're going to fail way more often than you succeed. That much is expected of you. What matters is how you pick yourself back up. If the dice don't go your way (and they won't) you'll have to improvise and hope the consequences are ones you can live with.

Отличная игра. Лучше Disco, хотя я люблю её всей душой. ZA/UM, всё будет прощено...

Really good game from the makers of Disco Elysium, similar in world building and story telling and an improvement in almost every way. its alot eaiser to get around in this game and the map is much denser than disco elysium it feels very immersive. this is an amazing example of how gaming can be art it is a must play on my list.
A konfliktusok megoldása kockadobással történik. This game takes a long while to clear its throat, and its delirium / fatigue / anxiety is very brutal initially. Losing hard earned skill points never feels good. But it's worth playing. It's definitely not the same zany, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vibe as Disco Elysium, but has its own strange magic.
Fantastic. If the idea of a narrative spy game tickles you in the slightest, you should give it a go. The setting is very original, delivered organically while playing (with many open ends, for better or for worse). The plot is also cool, and it's great to see how its pieces interconnect with each other and the setting as you progress. The voice acting is great (I like the raspy voice of the narrator, albeit a bit monotone at times), the art direction is great (at least for me), the writing is smart and deep and thematic (loved the spy jargon), the characters are diverse and memorable (although the main character could use a bit more fleshing out). The ending is slightly weak, I'd have liked some more dialogue after the final choices. Music doesn't stand out a lot, but when it does, it's also really good (big fan of the menu theme and "cover the moon when I'm gone"). The game is fairly lenient in terms of timings; I didn't encounter any relevant bugs/issues during my playthrough. There was one quest that I apparently skipped the deadline for, that got stuck in pending for a while (though apparently they patched it recently). There's also a veery tiny amount of voicelines that are missing or don't match the text. In terms of gameplay/ux, there are a very few minor issues: it took me a while to understand that internalized thoughts didn't increase your stats, just raised their cap; and I also for some reason took too long to realize there was actually fast travel. The consumables also have weird stats; the "rarer" ones have worse ratio (e.g. a can with -4fatigue +3anxiety vs one with -2fatigue +1anxiety). The game definitely reminds of Disco Elysium, but the vibe is different. DE is more comedic, the protagonist is a bigger ♥♥♥♥♥♥, has a talking tie, etc.; this one is grittier. It's honestly a shame they had to lay people off because the game failed to meet its targets; I guess the genre is too niche.
I loved this game. It might genuinely be the best game I've played, and at the very least it has one of the best stories I've ever experienced in a game. Few games have made me think this much about every clue, every conversation, and all the conspiracies hiding underneath the surface. I finished it and still couldn't stop thinking about what it all meant. Absolutely unforgettable.
