About

Brilliant, burnt-out, possibly cursed – you play as operant Hershel Wilk, alias CASCADE. Five years ago you led your team into the abyss and have been haunted by your failures ever since. Now you've been recalled for a mysterious assignment that may give you a chance to prove yourself again.

Uncover secrets hidden in the lost corners of the city and within your own mind. Navigate a murky world of potential informants and adversaries. Pass skill checks to uncover their true motivations through subterfuge, violence, or deduction. As an operant, there are multiple ways to approach every problem - your choices and methods will be your own, and so will the consequences.

Find yourself thrown into a three-way struggle for cultural and ideological power, played out across an unforgettable city. You'll go up against international bankers, foreign techno-fascists, psychic doppelgängers, a paranoid TV presenter, a man with a box for a heart, and dozens more. Everyone you meet has their own agendas, beliefs, and secrets for you to uncover and turn to your own ends. In ZERO PARADES, even the world itself is a character with its own secrets, traumas, and miracles for you to discover.

Operants subject themselves to years of psychological training to hone their minds into their greatest weapons. Do you favor animal-like reflexes, a philosophical approach, or a different cover story for every occasion? Through Conditioning, you'll turn the deepest aspects of Hershel's identity into potent abilities and unlock new paths forward. You can even change the rules of the game itself.

Pressures simulate the physical and psychological toll of being in-theatre. Exertion pushes dice rolls in your favour – just remember that you’re gambling with your life. Keep your Fatigue, Anxiety, and Delirium in check or deal with the long-term repercussions.

In this line of work you're going to fail way more often than you succeed. That much is expected of you. What matters is how you pick yourself back up. If the dice don't go your way (and they won't) you'll have to improvise and hope the consequences are ones you can live with.

It’s not Disco, but it doesn’t have to be. Game is great and a fantastic entry into Noncombat crpgs. Luck and Skill

I am a huge fan of Disco Elysium, so with all the controversy around the creator and this studio, I was cautious at first. After about 30 hours of playtime and in the middle of the final act. I gotta say this is every bit as amazing as Disco, there are new mechanics that I love, game looks beautiful even on my crumby ROG Ally, and the writing is packed with absurdity and personality.

Apparently this performed poorly in terms of sales, which makes sense considering I had no idea this was even out. TLDR: + Good first impression + Captivating world and characters - Lack of polish Either way, while Disco Elysium was lightning in a bottle unlikely to be caught again and the disaster that surrounded the devs, I find myself equally captivated as I was for DE. It may change as I keep playing, but it makes a good first impression. And a strong hook is important in a game that demands a lot of patience and attention for you to step into this complex fictional world, much like DE. What I don't like so far is that I feel a slight lack of polish. Many dialogues include voice lines that don't match up to the text, or voice effects like TV and intercom speakers come and go from line to line. Which is a shame because it suddenly breaks immersion in a world that otherwise manages to suck me in.
An elegant, thoughtful sophomore effort from za/zum that takes the tropes of the spy genre and bends them towards the surreal. I preferred to play it as a refugee from a Le Carre novel and the game accommodated this with grace. Luck and skill, CASCADE

If you enjoyed the videogame Disco Elysium, as I did, you might find that you enjoy this game even more, as I did. If you enjoy the work of John le Carre, as I do, you might find you enjoy this game a great deal, as I did. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
If Disco was a 10/10 this is a 9/10, and if you are gonna negatively review a game because of some controversy than you are a 0/10 .
It's not disco elysium, but it is a very very good narrative crpg,
