Game was addictive and all, just don't use the hand grenade only thing that get blast was you.
I'm not great at reviews but I'm loving this game. I like the lore, characters, the whole concept and the combat is surprisingly good. I've almost completed the game and it feels finished already even in early access. I hope there's more later because I'm really enjoying the game.

Absolutely peak. Moonless Formless has created something truly special yet again and I cannot recommend supporting them enough. The early access plays great, a few little hiccups here and there, but my issues are minimal and I'm sure with the amount of love the creator has put into this series they will continue to create a beautiful experience for us to continue to enjoy.
I'm really impressed that they managed to improve on the formula they had with Withering Rooms. They built on what they had and took it in a different direction while keeping most of what made the first game great. I feel like they've really created their own hybrid genre with these games: Souls-like metroidvania survival horror with RPG elements and rogue-like mechanics. Basically all my favorite things together. It's impressive that they've managed to make so many different genres work together so well, and they've now done it across two games. Withering Realms is more Souls-like and less rogue-like than the first game. The combat feels better and there are still plenty of different builds to create, but I think the first game has more variety in some areas. Realms is still in Early Access though, so I'm looking forward to see what they add. The best part is that you can play the whole game in its current early access state. It's rare to see an early access game this complete. I can't wait to see what they do next.
I also can't wait to boast about beating the Great Corpse Worm before they patched it lmao.
Withering Rooms was an absolute gem, which is why my expectations for Withering Realms were quite high. To be honest, I even was fully convinced that it couldn't possibly resonate with me in the same unique way Withering Rooms did. But I was as wrong as I could have been. Just like its predecessor, Withering Realms is one of the games I will still be talking about in 20 years. Of course, the Souls-like gameplay feels familiar on the surface, but it comes with some twists and innovations which make it feel fresh and compelling. And there's a huge arsenal of wepaons, armors and other items to experiment with. What really enchants me, though, is the game's unparalleled flavor. Just like in Withering Rooms, everything – story, characters, visuals – is so incredibly eerie and ominous, Lovecraftian even. In fact, there's so much creativity in its ideas, writing and designs that I'm having a hard time putting it into words, but I constantly find myself switching between "Woah, that is so cool" and "Jesus Christ, that's one of the creepiest things I've ever seen". On top of that, the soundtrack is ridiculously good, too. Also, while Withering Realms is still in Early Access, I haven't encountered any bugs, performance issues or other hiccups after several hours of playing. Some items might need slight adjustments, but the overall experience feels criminally polished. I know that 2026 has lots of bangers, but Withering Realms already is one of my personal highlights.
Combat needs a lot of work, especially concerning enemies that use guns. It can be super frustrating. There is also a level of early access jank which I'm sure Moonless Formless will clean up as it goes on. Everything else about the game is pretty rad. Very different from Withering Rooms, but still fun and intriguing
Games good and has alot of potential, definenthnly needs more balancing to be done before a proper playthrough is done though personally speaking. Too often you just end up in an area, swarmed by enemies without being able to do much. I'm talking 5 + that can just stunlock you to death. And alot of the weapons don't feel like they're too much different (or really do that much damage) even when upgrades are in place. Also swarmed by options very early on into the game - it becomes confusing to figure out what items you actually want to use while you're getting slapped around. There's potential, needs time in the oven a bit though.
Absolutely fantastic! Withering rooms was great, but this builds on that. Faster, more customization, more build freedom, with that same amazing atmosphere. And for an EA game, being complete already aside from tweaks, bugs, and extra, that's so great to see. Yes, there's a few rough edges, but that doesn't take away from it. I'm just having so much fun with it already, was def worth the wait. A highlight in anyone's gaming list this year. Hats off to Moonless, you killed it yet again.
Fantastic game - I was a great fan of Withering Rooms, and while the core gameplay loop has changed, it still has the same level of janky charm to the combat. Exploration somehow feels the same after going from 2.5d to standard 3d. The puzzles are engaging and sufficiently explained enough to keep me from going online to find solutions. Likely a few balancing changes to be done during EA, but I only had a single bug that required me to restart the game throughout my playthrough. Feels feature complete, I wouldn't wait for the 'full release' when the amount of content that currently exists feels like multiple other games already.
