About
Warhounds is a turn-based tactical & strategy game, inspired by XCOM and Jagged Alliance, about a mercenary squad with an old-school action movie vibe. Command an elite team of bold, stylish operators, wage a campaign in an alternate-future Africa, and decide the war’s outcome mission by mission.
Calculate lines of fire and flank angle, break cover, and seize the high ground. Every turn is decided more by your planning and tactics, less - by RNG.
Combine classes: Assault, Specialist, Sniper, Machine Gunner, and Grenadier. Pick the right gear for the job, treat and extract, and protect key operatives. Take calculated risks. High combat lethality makes every decision count.
Recruit, upgrade, purchase equipment, and handle logistics, finances, medical supplies, and downtime. Choose allied factions, build relationships, gather intel, and execute covert ops. Your choices have consequences: your decisions determine your access to missions, gear, and allies.
Deploy drones, combat scanners, smoke, and optical camo. Upgrade and improve your kit to win under any conditions.
Knock out a mission in 25-40 minutes, or settle in for a long session. Customize the challenge: go for a brutal tactical hell or a light, relaxing run.
No point-blank misses - flank + close distance = 100% hit chance.
Real ballistics, destructible cover, vertical gameplay, and cone overwatch.
Mercenaries with character and mission-focused loadouts without any busywork.
Base management, contracts, budgets, allies, and consequences for your actions.
Assemble your squad. Take the contract. Decide Africa’s future beyond 2035.

Good: I can roleplay as Wagner in Africa. Overwatches are fun. Figuring out overwatch to interrupt, break cover, flush enemies out, etc. is really fun. The game has varied enemy types that keep battles interesting. The game is fairly cheap. Meh: Graphics are okay. Will I ever get more than 4 characters on a mission? I don't have the same impending sense of doom I get from other games of the genre. The maps are repetitive, but you enter from different angles / at different times of day. I hope they add more maps in as post game content. The bad: The UI/UX is horrible. The main characters are ♥♥♥♥. The writing is braindead idiotic and seems like AI slop, but it could also just be a localization issue. The voice acting is really bad. That Crow character seems voiced by AI. "Hire characters with personality" <--- yet they all seem to have the same skill trees and their bios are all very similar. What would make the game from okay to good: FIx the UI/UX (so that information is easily understood) Allow mod support and actively support the modding scene. The game has good enough bones. Keep it at an affordable price point and let modders go wild.

Gameplay is super cool ,story is actually quite ok for me.I wasn't expecting some Oscar winning military drama here. I just wanted enough story to give context to the missions and characters, and so far it does the job.
재밌네..... 창작마당도 추가해주면 갓겜 되겠다.
A solid, well put together guy-in-a-van game, albeit one that wears its inspirations on its sleeve. The inspiration from XCOM 2 and Jagged Alliance 3 is clear, but derivative is not the same thing as bad. I have had quite a few crashes with the early build, and it is in dire need of spit and polish, but I still will not hesitate to recommend it.
Bland, boring, this definitely shouldn't be 1.0. its just a slog to play. Is it worth the money, no. buy it when its cheap if you must have it. Feels old, 10+ years old. voice acting sucks. and so on and so on.... but the worst part is the Devs are trying to sell a different game under a new title.
I've basically exhausted my supply of turn-based tactics games at this point. JA3, XCOM 2, Xenonauts 2, Hard West 2, Rogue Trader... played all of them way too much. Warhounds definitely gave me the “oh, this is basically XCOM” impression at first. Then I went back to XCOM 2 after not touching it for years. And that's when I realized the two games actually have a pretty different feel.
The graphics are definitely not going to win against Firaxis. And that's okay.I'd rather see more abilities, better AI and more mission variety. The core gameplay is already there.
I have 3 times in a row sniper missing with 70% hit chance- is this not a fake random?
The cone overwatch is actually a really clever idea. As well as shooting without nding your turn. Took me a couple missions to stop thinking about it like XCOM, but now I really like it.
Very good video game. A mixture of XCOM in a modern setting and other games, it adds a lot to love. It's not some AAA experience but as a lover of turn-based tactical games like XCOM, this scratches a lot of itches. I enjoy having a wide variety of customizable characters, as well as some named ones, going on missions that allow me to enjoy *my* characters in a variety of missions. Combat is challenging in many regards, which I enjoy, and while there are some ways to advantage fights, it's not like XCOM 2 at launch when one piece of wargear can 'cheese' a fight. I love these kind of games, and I hope for more coming to Warhounds.
