♥♥♥♥ UI, ♥♥♥♥ AI, ♥♥♥♥ ship models, it wants you to adjust every single parameter of each units whilst its fighting. Final straw was watching a light cruiser with no active sonar endlessly circle over my silent running submarine that it had spotted at 15,000 yards.
hasnt received an update for a year now. no news on my feed as to why

I swear to god i've sunk the Kongo like 8 times
War on the sea is a fun naval game that i would recommend. So, whats good about it? Pros: -very good modding platform with many well made mods such as the Tokyo Express mod and campaign mods. -easy to hop into and play (for me anyway) -a game set in the pacific theater of operations -custom mission editor -campaign set during operation watchtower -fun combat -late war stuff -damage modeling (its not world of warships) -I have not not encountered any bugs Cons: -dogfighting is terrible to say the least -the game is dead as the devs went off to develop sea power (devs of sea power with former developers of cold waters, a killerfish game -ui is outdated -recon is very tedious -no base late war campaign (it is understandable) -no soyru hiryu kaga or akagi Overall, fun game to hop into.
An enjoyable game. Unfortunately, it was left in its current state for whatever reason. Not as polished as it could be, but fun. I do with they had continued to make content for the game, as additional native scenarios that do not require mods would have been lovely.
Id like to see more or a larger campaign, maybe starting on Dec.7th. 1941 and running till the end of the war. and not have to download a third party mod to play as such. If as the dev, this is all you have to offer, then there is no way i would recommend this game to anybody.
Utterly garbage UI. No click to move, no reasonable method of issuing orders to multiple units. Everything depends on wildly random key binds which make less sense than Starfield. Ships without sonar have toggles to activate it. Aircraft carriers have no strike aircraft. There are no American light carriers. Yes, submarine attacks were surprising. That's why zigzag measures were adopted, a countermeasure with no way to employ in this dumpster fire of a game. Measurements are a maddening mix of imperial and metric, and there's no obvious method to conduct ASW attacks with depth charge fusing measured in seconds rather than depth. Do not spend money on this until the developers take a good, long think about what they're trying to produce.
Not fun, way to user intensive on micro managing every single ship at once. Yes you can pause to relay orders however its still too labour intensive. There is a fire at will mode, this is an "intelligent mode" which will launch SS flares at night and adjust to AP or HE and supposedly loose or narrow shot patterns based on how accurate you can fire. This mode is also, fire at whatever you damn please mode which means the ships in your entire armada will gang bang a Destroyer and leave a Battleship untouched despite you trying to force the targeting on the Battleship. If you want your ships to hit the targets you actually want them to hit you need to use manual firing and select your targets, shot pattern, shot, etc then fire. Then hopefully your ship will fire at your target like everything on your UI says so. Even with this you have to micro manage every gun as I've noticed sometimes the individuals guns refuse to shoot at the targets you specify. Dog fighting is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, most of the time your planes unless manually controlled will fly right in front of the planes youre trying to kill. I didn't even fight this system as individually manually controlling every aircraft is silly. Damage modelling is somewhat interesting, however graphically its represented by charcoal staining on the side of your hull, lame. This game could be fun, however the micro managing absolutely kills it, and even when micromanaging you cannot trust that the ships are doing what you want them to do.
bro f this game, enemy merchant on fire, serious flooding...still has pin point accuracy and rof
Great game, very fun once you get the hang of it. Big learning curve though. Only bad thing is I'm 50% certain KF Games has abandoned this game.
