⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Players in the game will be able to play on multiple battlefields of the Maryland Campaign, from the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers where the Siege of Harper's Ferry took place, to the ridgelines of South Mountain, and to the meandering waters of Antietam Creek at the Battle of Antietam.
Additionally, players will also be able to choose from a list of regiments that fought in each battle as well as what rank to fight as, whether they want to slog it out as a lowly private, or if you want to orchestrate the carnage and mayhem as a major general.
Uniforms and bodily features will all be customizable for other players to see as you march and fight in the lines of battle according to the tactics of the period. As a General, you will operate in your headquarters equipped with a map of the battlefield and constantly receiving reports of friendly and enemy positions. Send out new orders to the regiments to move forward, or fall back - all in real time. The orders will move down the chain of command, to the Colonels, Majors, down to the Captains in charge of the individual regiments, all of whom have the option to follow the orders of their trusted commander, or rebel against his wishes and fight as you see fit.
Each map contains a period reconstruction of the buildings, farms, forests, roads, and rocks as they were in 1862 so players can fight through the streets of Harper's Ferry, in the wooded heights of Fox's Gap at South Mountain, or in the cornfields and Bloody Lanes of Antietam. Players can feel the whiz of deadly shot and shell fly by their bodies, or hit their comrades or themselves as they scream in a bloody hail from their wounds. Limbs will fly and blood will be spilt once again as Campfire Games brings the fighting of the Civil War right to the player's computer screen!
Will you heed the Union call against the traitors? Or will you fight to defend your family and livelihood with the Confederacy? You decide!

Most immersive black powder game I've ever seen.
The game is a masterpiece. Hands down one of the best realistic shooters I've ever played. The game never fails with it's rich mechanics, and amazing graphics. The game's community is also very nice. Overall, the game is a 10 for me.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Fight as the Union every time, can always tell when the Rebs are coming because they are always laughing about screwing their cousins and scouting some racist thing in the most idiotic ways possible. I am going to play this game until I die.
Best historical FPS I've ever played, the level of realism (considering it's still a game) is absolutely maxed out. Cooperation is much more central than in other FPS and you are penalized for being a rambo. Also find most of the community to be absolutely great, which is pretty important as you need to be with your unit throughout the game, and as admin is vigilant bad apples are swiftly removed. If you want a HUD, easy to use cannons and be a lone wolf, then this game probably isn't for you. But if you like realism, proper team work in a unit and historical accuracy then you should absolutely give WoR a try.
Slavery
This game is incredible. Like this is hand down the BEST civil war simulator so ever exist. This game has cap lock rifles, cap revolvers, swords, cannons ,muskets , explosions , blood , musket volleys and so much more. People in this game use communication to twin the battles. Each team has a certain amount of officers in charge of a certain amount of people which all work together in order to strategize a plan to win the game. Everyone in this game is very friendly and talkative and you feel accepted immediately. This is probably one of my top 5 games of all time. it is extremely fun and addicting and you can play for hours and hours and not even notice. its a great game to just sit back relax and enjoy your day.
Highly recommend playing with a regiment. Makes the game 100 times better.
Dont know what happened but this game and this game alone has shader problems and now everything has red all over it yet i can play other games just fine.
Couldnt be racist with my friends... got banned for slurs 10 minutes into a match. im very displeased with that fact. like how can i not play the south and not be racist... pissed me off. my kids crying cause i got banned.. whole family is upset
It was me and 10 other men along a stone wall, locked and loaded. I hear the flapping fabric of our flag in the wind. Then in the woods ahead just a few flashes of blue through the trees. There they are! Our officer orders us to fire, *boom* I can faintly hear some of them, screaming and moaning as the smoke fills the air. Now a volley from the other side. Their shot, tearing into the man to my right and another one close, drops to the dirt. The bugle call cuts through their dying breaths. No time to reload *CHARGE* we sprinted towards each other, bayonets first. I feel my steel enter flesh, and after ripping it out of him, blood soaking my blade. We're falling back to the wall, and I feel lost as cannon fire hit where I had just stood. The confusion sets in our rank as officer Nibblenuttz69 was sundered in the blast. I say a prayer and we rally around our colors. Alas, I found a sense of peace in that chaos, right then, before everything turned black.
