From the ex-Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive team comes a janky love letter to PS2-era action. Play a week in the life of the Zombie Unit: an elite Hong Kong police squad carving through a corporate conspiracy in a storm of swordplay and gunfire. Stylish, brutal, and absolutely not for everyone.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
A cult classic.
Wanted: Dead is a hybrid slasher/shooter that plays like a lost PS2 disc someone dared to actually finish. It's a hard, weird, gorgeous action game with zero interest in being for everyone. Built by veterans of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, it fuses razor-precise swordplay with third-person gunfire in a combat system that rewards you for being reckless and stylish at the same time.
Combat with teeth.
Chain melee and gunplay into brutal, screen-filling combos. Parry, dismember, and finish enemies with executions that are as grotesque as they are satisfying. Slow the chaos to a crawl in bullet time and then punish everything on screen. The fights are demanding and occasionally unfair.
A week in the life of the Zombie Unit.
You are Lt. Hannah Stone, leading an elite Hong Kong police squad through a neon-soaked corporate conspiracy. It's a linear and story-rich campaign that swerves without warning from grim ultraviolence to something stranger.
Unapologetically weird.
This is a game where you'll finish a brutal boss fight and then sit down to a lovingly rendered ramen-eating minigame, or a round of karaoke, or an arcade cabinet. The whiplash isn't a bug, it's the personality. It's scrappy, pulpy, and self-aware.
Rough around the edges. On purpose.
Wanted: Dead is niche, distinctive, and proud of its jank. If you grew up on Deadly Premonition, Vanquish, and Lollipop Chainsaw and you've been missing games with this much attitude: welcome home.
Key Features.
Melee that means it: A deep hack-and-slash system with a huge move set and finishers built to slice, dice, and dismember.
Guns in the same breath: Flow straight from the blade into a handpicked arsenal of assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, and grenade launchers. Melee and gunplay are one nasty rhythm.
50+ brutal finishers: Over fifty unique execution moves, each more grotesque than the last. Deeply unnecessary and yet absolutely the point.
Neon and grime: A cyberpunk Hong Kong where high-tech hardware collides with retro '90s futurism.
A story that swerves: Ride with the Zombie Unit as they pull apart a massive corporate conspiracy in a dystopian Hong Kong. Linear, story-rich, and prone to going somewhere strange.
Genuinely hardcore: These fights will not be kind to you. Steel up and use everything around you to cut through hordes of mercenaries, synthetics, and private security who very much want you dead.
Old-school beat 'em up, modern edge: Wade in, take everything down, keep moving. It's the beat 'em up you grew up on dragged into the present with more blood and better toys.
A love letter to the sixth console generation: Made for anyone who still misses the PS2 era when action games were weird, scrappy, and cool.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Immaculate trusoul media. I loved it. So bold and sincere in its vision, You can feel the low budget and how it's probably half of what it was aiming for in terms of story and length, but what's here is incredible. Give this team Clair Obscur money and they could make a modern classic
There is an alternate universe out there in which this game is a phenomenal cult classic. The mix of slasher and shooter, the bunch of random minigames (Ramen eating rhythm game? A whole 2D arcade shooter?), the cyberpunk setting, the bizarre writing, the random injected clips of flashbacks presented as clips from an anime (?), the loading screen being a literal meme, the moment where your crew of terrorist war criminals sing 99 Luftballons at karaoke during the main quest (the WHOLE thing - not abridged!)... I can kind of see the vision here. Unfortunately absolutely every part of the game is created with such terrible execution and quality that the end result is something like a 3/10. The quirky randomness that wants to be Yakuza SO BAD really doesn't work when you can't write anything with charm or wit or character. The cutscenes don't work when your voice actors are some of the worst performers who have ever recorded for a game. I seriously can't understate how bad the voice acting is on some of the cast: some sound like people who have no acting experience cold reading a script in their second language over a Skype call. The story? It's barely comprehensible, some kind of capitalist dystopia involving megacorps, privatized police and turning people into mind controlled worker robots. Who the ♥♥♥♥ knows beyond that. ♥♥♥♥ just kind of happens and you kill some PMC enemies and robots. There is a glimmer of something in the concept and world building, but once again: the concept is good, the execution is terrible. Even the combat isn't really all that fun. The encounter design is often poor, leading to many unenjoyable fights. The random long gauntlets between checkpoints that the game sometimes throws at you can be gruelling and frustrating. The difficulty curve is whack, and the first level is harder than anything thereafter. The first mission's endboss (a huge spider tank) is a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The transition into and out of finishing moves in combat is very clunky and not at all smooth, which makes the whole combat feel rather un-fluid - the opposite of what you want in a character action game. There is also a lack of variety in the moveset. Thankfully the game is very short (just 5 missions!), but towards the end I was definitely feeling the lack of variety. Yes, there is a sliding attack, a running attack and a second combo string you can use after pressing Y once to fire your pistol first, but that's pretty much it. It's a whole lot of just pressing X. There are times when it kind of comes together. Sometimes you have a nice fight where you can move from enemy to enemy, cutting or shooting off limbs and then enjoying the iframes of nicely animated finishing moves (which are both cool looking and surprisingly varied!), ALMOST getting a whiff of the Ninja Gaiden 2 from which this game draws inspiration. Sometimes you get a nice boss fight, there were two that I felt were kind of alright. Sometimes you get a nice encounter where you use your rifle to take out some key targets, switch to melee, then encounter a miniboss that you set on fire with an incendiary grenade and finish off with a shotgun and you think "yeah, I see what the game is trying to do!". Unfortunately those moments are exceedingly rare. If you're looking for a character action game, just play DMC or Bayonetta or Ninja Gaiden instead. If you've already been through all of those then, sure, MAYBE this is worth a punt on a deep sale. But honestly, I would just wait for some other game to come along and do the slasher/shooter hybrid properly.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 30: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

About a third of the way through the game and really enjoying it so far. The combat is tough but fair and has a feel like it's a blend of the old Ninja Gaiden games and Hotline Miami. It will likely take you a few tries to optimize your path through an area you're stuck on but it's never felt cheap or unfair to me. The characters are memorable and the story (so far) is interesting. There's also a host of mini-games to explore between missions that give a relaxing vibe to the downtime. I do recommend setting an FPS cap in your graphics settings to make the rhythm based mini-games more consistent and manageable. I don't regret spending the 15 dollars for it while it's on sale.
I absolutely love the game for what it is. A modern PS2 style game with all the pros and cons. Play it if you like some nostalgia with some magical clunky gameplay. Negative review due to the key art being changed to AI slop. I have the f*cking collectors edition of this game because I love the design and art in this. And it’s the only thing that cannot be changed by their stupid management now seemingly addicted to AI, even though the game itself has no AI in it. That’s why physical media is important.
I am conflicted on this one, but overall unless you get it for a few dollars via a steam key or something and are really curious about this game, I don't think this is worth your time. This story is so terrible, confusing, awkward, nonsensical, and repeated whiplashing its tone and direction, that I am in awe of how a professional came up with this and though this was a good idea. The decision to have the VA for the character we play as do the English voice acting was a really bad idea as she isn't a native English speaker, so in turn its very difficult to take anything she says seriously as there are so many moments that the script says one thing but the delivery unintentionally confusing the play meaning something else. The writing is confusing and hard to follow with so many things that imply concepts and people that are either briefly mentioned or things that are seemed as important talked about once then never again. Its cutscenes are really awkward with a long pauses of nothing happening for no reason, random music changes during cutscenes. And my favorite the really weird lost in translation moments like Stone kissing the police chiefs forehead after he was yelling at her for causing to much collateral damage or at the diner the guys are making sex jokes that don't make any sense in English. I have no doubt that there probably is a breakdown on youtube that analyzes all of the text logs and is able to make this make sense but it does such a bad job of being clear to the player. This feels like a Yakuza game, In one level I go from slicing people to pieces, to capturing hostage, to eating at a diner, then playing a mini game of karaoke where everyone is dancing like its the end of a kids movie. Its gameplay takes a bit to get used to, despite the overhaul updates the criticisms of it being janky are still true, everything is animation locked and it takes a half a second longer to go from one animation to another then what most people would expect. You'll get used to it and it is fun for a while with the 3rd person shooting and sword combat. Its skill tree is fine it provides upgrades, but it doesn't add any new moves, attacks or special abilities. So despite the first 5 hours being fine, it turns into a frustrating fatigue fighting the same 3 enemy types over and over and over. Bosses are fine i guess, some were not clearly play tested at all as some throws so many enemies at you and a boss taking a hell of lot longer to complete then it needed to. This game honestly needed more depth to its combat and I could have forgiven a lot, but the fatigue you will experience playing this cannot be ignored
I force myself to play this game for that long and why I don't refund this beacuse I buy this game year ago
Cool idea. Absolute trash.
