A fairly playable roguelike deckbuilding auto-battler. It's well-localized in Korean and has a Japanese dub. Like the country that pioneered gacha, it's all about unit extraction, gem extraction, and even using gemstones to obtain new items from the collection. A unique feature is that when you upgrade a unit to 2-star status, you still have symbols left over for synergy. This often requires carrying units around to reach 2-star status, putting considerable strain on your inventory. The map expands as you go higher, increasing the pressure on mana required for movement. However, like Slay the Spire, this game also allows rewind, making it a viable option if you don't like it. The achievements are moderate, but a single round can take quite a while. AND the witch is pretty!

I have no idea what I am doing with symbols and synergies almost all of the time, but alot of the characters but as long as you follow the logic of "The cuter the character, the stronger they are" you'll be fine. This is a game that basically requires you to dungeon dive multiple times in order to progress unlocking new characters via a gatcha mechanic, whose currency you earn by playing the game. Not the F2P gatcha systems where you need to pay money to get a character, but actual playing to earn it. There is a bit of RNG, but since each gatcha books have a set item list, you will earn everything eventually. Yes, that means grinding. Tis a Roguelike after all. Overall a very fun game to play offline on the steamdeck when you're traveling and have no connection to play anything else.

Play Time: 48hrs Achievements: 60 of 62. 97% Date/Version: July 27th 2026 Rating: 6 3/4 out of 10 Vivid Knight an auto-battler, roguelike where it's about risking the mana and the money to get the win. You build up a team with your team with one of your two chosen leaders. Just like any auto-battler team builder you'll run into RNG and you'll run into different monsters and different random events of sorts. While the game is charming for some, others may be annoyed by the games music and especially the characters sound effects (I WAS ANNOYED). I'm not a person who finds it enjoyable to heard a person act/sound as a little child, or an annoying mouse make the sound childish sound 30 times in 30 seconds. Overall I would say mute the game, play it and enjoy it. Achievement gathering isn't terrible and in harder difficulties you'll find yourself frustrating. Just like any game with this art style a nice chunk of these reviews appear to be from “fans” of the LOLI (if that's how it's spelled) or some other creepy stuff like that. P.S. RUNS are not no 20-30 minutes long. (Potential Spoilers) Leaders and Units: You have two leaders you'll eventually be able to chose from both have their own unique play style and unique unit pool. One leader has a pool of 51 unique units they may encounter to recruit on their team. And the other leader can has 52 unique units they may encounter to recruit for their team. Recruiting units costs 30 currency regardless of the rarity. Each unit has their own unit stats and ability, in addition they'll have unique Symbols. You combine 3 of the same unit to make 1 stronger unit, you then can combine 3 (combined) same units into 1 stronger unit. Yes that means there are only 2 upgrades to each unit but to max a unit you'll need 9 of the same unit and not 6. Tribes/Factions/Traits (Symbols): You'll have color symbols and Markup symbols these are what help you create a synchronized team. With 10 unique color symbols and 13 Markup Symbols for each leader. These Symbols once you collect a particular number will give your units benefits. (IMPORTANT NOTE) once you've combined 3 of the same unit, you can always keep that unit or sell it. If you decide to sell it you still retain the color and markup symbol count. Accessory: (Leaders passive) There are 30 unique accessories; these accessories will provide passive bonuses, and may have multiple symbols on them. Are they all created equal and may you want different ones at different times, yes. Gems: (Leaders active skills) There are 47 “unique” gems you can obtain they'll have their own ranking which the alchemist will eventually be able to create different ranks of the same GEMS later on in your run. These GEMS act as actives your leader can use during a battle, they all have some sort of cooldown, and some may have 1 time use. Conclusion: I did enjoy playing this game for the most part but it's nothing on any of the other top tier auto-battlers. In fact the first 3 hours of playing I was bored. I also didn't like the concept of the game collecting as many symbols as you can is the name of the game. RNG play a larger factor than what there should be, and runs are way too long. You want to know what makes this worse... you have to unlock the “speed up” button/function via meta currency. And it took more than 10+ hours for me to get this thing.. MEANING I was forcibly made to play slower which didn't help me what so ever. Some may say “well this is to help slow you down to learn the game... SERIOUSLY it was too slow and boring. Then you have the difficulties they were not impressive and runs could last for about 2 hours. I didn't find out until later on that there is a continue button just in case you have to leave. As I mentioned in the beginning the the units sound effects are just ANNOYING it's more the voice sound effects. The music is super super repetitive. Overall I would still get the game again and do my best to beat it, I enjoyed myself enough to recommend the game. But wow was it rough. PROS: Unique Tribes/Factions/Traits Unique Units Unique Items Unique Consumables Game Play isn't terrible NEUTRAL: RNG is a bit steep. Boss balance is iffy CONS: Voices/Sound Effects Music Speed being locked behind meta currency. Witches Maze game length
A very fun roguelike. I like this art style even more than the one of the second game in the series.
