VirtuaVerse is a challenging old school cyberpunk point & click adventure set in a future not so far away narrating tales of technomancers, AVR graffiti writers, hacker groups, tribes of cryptoshamans, digital archeology, epic cyberwars and virtual reality debauchery.

The worst thing about this game is that it ends. 10/10
A Point Click Adventure Game Puzzle And Yeah Challenging Something To really get that mind working and wanting to know what happens next can't really say that I enjoyed it The Game was fun and exploring and getting some cool screen shots while I was at it I bought this game a while ago just haven't got around to play it and completing the game was almost like a pain that was relieved from my body so yeah I'd say in the end this game was fun in a way that I can only describe as fun so I hope the rest of you enjoyed it like I did. Thanks
Virtual Headaches
So the pixel art style and the 8 bit music is absolutely on point. A lovingly crafted cyberpunk world with a lot of detail. The story is... not great. The lore doesn't make much sense but the worse is the main character who is impossible to sympathize with. He's basically an a**hole with no personality, who is stalking his girlfriend, and cons and steals from everyone he meets along the way. As for the gameplay... it combines all of the worse traits point n clicks have to offer: extreme pixel hunting. nonsensical combos and actions that are impossible to figure out on your own, poor explaining of objectives, heavy backtracking, and some pretty bad puzzles. If it was a 90s game, it may be understandable but for a game that came out in 2020 there is plainly no excuse.
https://youtu.be/UiCqpTcAWhs Nailing the cyberpunk style but is held back by the puzzle design being a bit to arbitrary and unrewarding.
Amazing Gmae! It you likes the point and click adventures from the early 90's like monkey Island, Loom, etc then this is for you. All music is done by Master Boot Record! Amazing dude to meet and see live!
Good game, beautiful pixelart and areas. Some challenging puzzles most of which make sense, some don't at all. Tonnes of backtracking but what are you expecting when it comes to a game like this. A nice sensible story nothing groundbreaking but a worthwhile experience all around.
First part was really fun, however, the game crashes at the same point, making the game unplayable currently.
VirtuaVerse is a top-notch cyberpunk graphic adventure. If you liked Beneath a Steel Sky, Gemini Rue, Technobabylon - all that stuff - you'll love this. The graphics and sonics alone are worth the price of entry. The pixel art perfectly captures the cyberpunk aesthetic and the chip music is primo. Everything about this game is not only beautiful but feels deeply grounded in respect for hacker culture, the demoscene, retrocomputing, all that jazz. They even come up with a plausible in-universe explanation for why the real punx don't get chipped - it shows so much love for the genre and attention to detail, it's a treat for home computer nerds. With the gushing out of the way, there are a couple of flaws. The biggest is that the protagonist is a typical adventure game asshat who lays waste to everyone and everything around him in pursuit of his goals. In Deponia or Monkey Island we can kinda roll with it because the game is a comedy, but this game takes itself relatively seriously, so it comes off poorly when our "hero" sets an innocent up to get murdered, or screws with peoples' lives including that of his own damn partner. It's also disappointingly heteronormative. It's not bigoted or gratuitous, but there are a lot of moments where it feels like you're playing a game made by and for straight dudes. It's fine, but still would've been nice to have a bit more representation in this kind of body mod neon chrome technicolor future. Some of the puzzles are also a bit too hard. The solutions themselves make sense in the context of the universe, but there aren't always enough hints to really lead you there. It's especially annoying in certain locations where you can see a whole chain of puzzles ahead that you know how to solve, but finding the one thing that topples the first domino is pure guesswork. Fortunately we have walkthroughs these days, so this isn't a showstopper. And at least all the puzzles are classic adventure game puzzles, there's no fetch quest busywork. The story is great. You start searching for your missing partner and then the stakes keep getting raised till you are neck-deep in a biopunk cyberhacking underwater space travel pirate ship extravaganza. It's not deep, but it's fun as hell. Yes, the characterization is a bit cringe and you have to overlook the senseless violence and wanton vandalism, but as a whole package this is a delight, like finding a lost AAA adventure from the LucasArts era. If you loved the movie Hackers, if you remember playing around with IRQ jumpers, if you know what raster bars are... this is the game for you. But even if you are just a casual point-and-click fan who wants a solidly entertaining sci-fi romp, this will hit the spot.
Very interesting story, lot's of references. Characters drawn a bit clumsy, but this game totally worth every penny! Thank you so much! PS: OST TOTALLY ROCKS!
