Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

It doesn't work on my linux computer because of EAC. Considering I only play single player its pretty frustrating. I don't want to deal with secure boot.
Decided to power through the requirements of both Secure Boot & TPM 2.0 under the assumption that the game would win me over... and those requirements prevented me from being able to play. Joke's on me! Even worse, when I did get into a multiplayer match the netcode visibly struggled which resulted in desync, disconnects, and plenty of frustration. SEGA: remove Secure Boot & TPM 2.0, and please improve the multiplayer. Virtua Fighter deserves better and it's already a niche game to begin with. What are you doing?

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 5: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I know that I haven't played much, but I finally had a time to sit down with it today. I tested it on Steam Deck at launch and it ran without issues. Now it's refusing to complete launch on my laptop. I know my laptop is more powerful than the Steam Deck, so it's gotta be drm related. I saw easy anticheat install today when attempting to launch and it fails to run after it shows that it's loading it up. WTF, I've already paid for this and it's far too late to get a refund. I've always wanted Virtua Fighter on pc so I bought it and all of the dlc on day 1 despite not having any real time to game until this past month. Why would you release an update that removes paying players from being able to play?! I was hoping to give this 4 hours before work today and you just ruined that. Fix this or I won't be buying VF6 or any other Sega published games anymore - I own most of your catalog. That can and will stop.
So apparently they added a requirement that you have Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 somewhat recently, which super sucks. Especially with the people who may be coming in to check it out based on the news about VF6. There is, however, a saving grace: by simply tricking the game into thinking you're on steamdeck, you can bypass the secure boot check. Just go to Preferences > Launch Options and put "SteamDeck=1". Don't know if it works for everyone, but it did work for me. My review is only negative because of this change. I love this game and am really looking forward to the next one.
I bought this game a year ago, when it ran on SteamOS. It no longer does, since the inclusion of EAC and SEGA deciding to enforce its installation only being possible on Windows devices, making so I could not install it on my new Steam Machine today, despite the Verification badges for SteamOS, Steam Deck, and the Steam Machine still being on the side of the webpage. I have since manually applied for a refund of this game, as I purchased it with the idea that it was verified to run on the Steam Deck, and now my Steam Machine. I recommend everyone else to do the same.
It's genuinely an amazing fighting game. It doesn't have the over the top flashiness of Tekken, The gore of something like Mortal Kombat, or the most stylistic nature of Street Fighter; but it's got something else going on that makes this fighter stand out: It's pure. No bells, whistles, or win mechanics. If you lose in this game, it's truly of your own doing If you win in this game, the same can be said of the former. While Sega has made some questionable updates to this game that I must admit, haven't done this already struggling game any favors; what really hurts this game is the community size right now. This game, is so fkn dead. It's ridiculous. I thought everyone was so fed up with Tekken, that they were moving to Virtua Fighter, but I guess that was all a front lol. So right now, I can't recommend this game because it's already very watered down on any actual content or customization (You have single player arcade, online, and training, that's it, seriously), and having almost no one to play with just makes this game feel more sad to own in your library than anything It's genuinely an amazing game. The fighting is so good, so pure, it's straight hands in the best way possible. All the stages are dope, the characters despite having almost no personality are all still really lovable, and the graphics for this game look awesome. The game has an almost early Y2K feeling too it which really helps this game stand out, yet, no one plays it. It sucks because I lowkey prefer this over Tekken right now. Maybe when the new VF comes out, it'll make people also come to this one, but for now, just pass unless you have friends that play, wether offline, or online.
Why would you add a random, bs security measure to a game that has been around for 20 years, with no issues
Secure Boot and TPM were retroactively made mandatory requirements to play the game. I bought the game and played it way before this was a thing. Game worked just fine without them. If I remember correctly it's always been one way; you make the game based on certain technical requirements and it stays that way until the game is obsolete, you don't get to change the requirements after people have actually bought and played the game. I don't know who this serves, really, but go ahead, knock yourselves out. I'm not playing the game until this "requirement" is completely removed.
A year after initial release the game was patched with Kernel anti-cheat that requires Secure Boot & TPM 2.0. Not only is this scummy and hilariously inappropriate for a port of a 20 year old fighting game, but it means some people might not be able to boot the game up anymore if they're not able/willing to enable TPM 2.0. The Sega humiliation ritual will continue until morale improves I guess
sega removed my ability to play a product I already owned. this shouldn't even be legal.
