Beautiful in so many ways. I love that is shows the negatives in life and just how much a culture and its food can help bring people together. The animation style, especially the food, looked gorgeous and i love that it gave cooking tips for the real life dish!

A relaxing cooking game with beautiful art and “puzzles” just light enough to stir your brain a bit, the story of Venba is probably relatable to a lot of kids who grew up with immigrant parents, and will surely make you call your mom after and tell her that you love her. As a second-generation immigrant, my parents also gave up everything to give me what they thought was a better life in Canada. The challenges that Kavin faces while growing up, and his desire to stray away from his Tamil identity is a story that I am familiar with. While I actually had the opposite problem growing up (refusing to speak English, my parents wanting to assimilate me into Canadian culture, not giving me a Chinese name on purpose etc), Kavin’s story is one I’ve heard many times from others, in particular with the generation after mine (Gen-Z), and one that I’ve seen in my younger cousins. It’s a bit short, but to all my second-gen Canadians out there, this game is for us. Embrace both your Canadian and foreign identities - that’s what living in Canada is all about.
This game does not respect users' time. I bought this for the Indian cooking, not a story that I DON'T WANT TO WATCH. And voila!—you can't skip it, what a surprise! If the story were actually good, I’d accept it. But it severely lacks story design, just pushing backward values about a woman serving a man. I don't even know these characters, yet I'm forced into their private family business like I accidentally crawled into a stranger’s bed. The art and music are really beautiful, 3/10—and the three is for the beautiful illustration and Indian music.

Touching and sweet game. It warmed my heart and made me cry a little. It's so vibrant and made me reaaally hungry xD It felt special from start to finish, a very personal story. I'm glad I gave it a try.
