コントローラーの認識がおかしい。スチーム入力を有効にしていると起動しないし、無効にしていると起動するがボタンの認識がおかしくなる。カメラの挙動も変で、静止しないのであまりにも操作しにくい。 結局スチーム入力は有効にしたまま、一度コントローラーを切断してから起動して、起動後にコントローラーを再接続するという意味不明なことしないとならない。 コントローラーのキーコンフィグも完全には対応していないので、Bボタンで決定を変えられない。すっかりAボタン決定に馴染んでるのでやりにくい。 もともとPSコントローラー用のゲームなのでマウスとキーボードでは操作がかなりめんどくさい。この不具合は決定的に印象悪い。レビューで書いてる人いないので、もしかしたら特殊な環境でしか再現しないのかもしれないが、そんなに特殊な構成のPCじゃないはずだし他でこんな不具合はないみたいなのでちょっと謎。

Such and underrated game and series. Don't let it's anime-themed characters turn you off. This is a very addictive strategy, turn-based tactical shooting game that rewards your planning and thinking 3 turns ahead (like chess). Easy to pickup and play with many different ways of approaching missions. (Just don't expect the best narrative in the world.)

i have been looking at the reviews for a little bit now some of them shock me. Like to me everything about this game is great. I love everything from the main cast and the side characters to the story and art direction. People are saying the story/characters are garbage, I would have to completely disagree. I would say you get pretty close to the characters and even the side characters. The story is amazing, your pretty much watching friends from when there were kids slowly growing up because of how war changes people. I do got to say though, since it is a anime style game it will have those anime cliche moments but it doesn't ruin the game what so ever as some reviews claim it does, they do it well and gets some laughs from the scenes when necessary. Overall i would have to give the game a solid like 8.5/10 maybe a 9/10. I hope my review makes you give the game a solid chance.

The gameplay itself is really good. There's definitely been a lot of polish and the additions to the game are fine. Mortars feel great to use, the APC and the march orders do make up for the shortcomings of some units and allow for interesting strategies. The combat engineers being able to revive people is very handy too. That being said, the story and the dialogue on the EN side of things suffers from the disease that is localization. The first game's translation did take some liberties, but it was nowhere near as egregious as VC4's, even putting Anthony Burch's attempts awful attempts at comedy to shame. This excessive quantity of flanderization, reddit lingo, quips based on what a 15-year old would find funny and more result in a very tone-deaf experience, which absolutely betrays how the characters were supposed to talk and act. Even with a somewhat tenuous grasp of Japanese on my part, the difference between the original and this botched dialogue is night and day. Which sucks, since the story of these games has always been pretty good. Just look at VC1, which had a stellar one, in spite of the lackluster translation. Genuinely hoping that whoever did localization on this gets fired, blacklisted or both. Chances are, whichever cockroach did this is probably failing upwards somewhere else, but still. In a just world, these bottom feeders would've been shot and i'd say good riddance. Overall, if you just care about the gameplay, get it on discount(the higher the better), set the voices to JP and have fun.

If you want more VC - pick this. If you want to try this series this is a good starting point, arguably better than the original. If you don't know what VC is - go find out.
