Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0.43/day in the week after.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

The spiritual successor to Freelancer, Underspace is an open-world sandbox RPG with a Lovecraftian twist, where every star system is handcrafted, and every star system has something to see or do. Jump into the bizarre galaxy of Croft, step into the role you want, and thrive alone or online with friends (multiplayer on near term Early Access roadmap). But beware! The storms rule the stars.
Be a miner picking through crystallized bones of ancient star beasts, a trader hauling artifacts to far-flung outposts, a pirate robbing spacetrains, an explorer combing through lost stellar cities, or a hunter chasing down unknowable monstrosities that spew forth from the storms. Brave violent weather, eldritch beasts, and the terrors of the unknown as you make your mark in the universe.
16 main campaign missions
60 sidequests
36 bosses
114 star systems (no fast travel - all open world + lanelines for accelerated travel)
204 stations
533 equipment pieces to customize your ship
Player housing and extensive cockpit customization
Online multiplayer
Integrated mod support
Over 68 enemy types
~12-15 hours to beat the main quest
Around 300 hours of gameplay for a completionist
The galaxy is not a safe, sane place. Hyperspatial tempests sweep through space, distorting star systems and spewing forth strange hazards, even stranger monstrosities, and incredible treasures. Traverse over 110 handcrafted star systems, any of which could fall victim to foul weather.
Strike out into the starry unknown, and comb through ancient starcities, warped graveyards, or fields of lost wormholes. The galaxy is filled with unique adventures and puzzles waiting for a starchaser to discover and rob them.
Away from the highways and deep in the most remote parts of space lie hidden challenges. you'll face off against world-eating serpents, possessed battleships, and living minefields. End the lives of over 35 unique bosses.
Fly, paint, and customize over 60 different ships. Outfit yourself with over 500 pieces of equipment. Choose your race, build your character, and try not to get eaten by a ghost train.
Even in the face of the great storms, life goes on. Befriend or befuddle over 40 different factions, all with their own alliances, goals, and preferences. Pursue random assignments, or discover hidden stories and questionable motives in over 45 unique sidequests.
Strip asteroids of their precious resources, fabricate technology to sell and utilize. Ship over 50 different types of cargo to over 200 stations, or pirate it off the imbeciles who stray into your territory. From dashing hero to dastardly hellpriest, experience the galaxy the way you want.

I remember the joy of playing freespace and the frustration when my game CD got irrevocably damaged. Suddenly the game wasn't available anymore. When I saw this spiritual successor, I was skeptical but decided to give it a chance and so far I have not been disappointed. It's simplicity in graphics belies the complexity of its story and I am already well immersed in following the campaign.
scratches the freelancer itch
I really wanted to enjoy Underspace, being a fan of both complex space sims and lovecraftian horror, but I just can't get through the technical issues. It's too rough around the edges for me to justify putting money in it. Voiceover which is missing (probably was removed due to being AI but I am not sure) that made me spend 20 minutes trying to figure out if my game is broken, menu options which don't work, a horribly loud and badly looped engine sound driving me insane (which I can mute to have no engine sound at all which is also sub optimal), on top of other stuff like horrible UI (the layout is not bad but the icons, fonts, sizes just reek of amateur work). Usualy I can hand wave such issues if the game itself is good enough but Underspace just threw me off completely. I believe there is a great game in here but for me - I'll wait for 1.0 or something, hoping it will drasticaly improve. Back to Starsector I guess...

At first this feels like a mod or DLC for Freelancer and I mean that in a very positive way; being a big fan of the original Freelancer, I immediately got addicted to it; it mostly feels the same and looks alike, but way bigger & better. Already got 46 hours in on my first week of playing and still going strong at a 160h+ now. That should tell you enough :) Graphic-wise it's close to Freelancer with the HD mod and increased/modern polygon count for 3D models. The different space systems are very diverse and always have stuff to explore/investigate/harvest; with tons of worm holes and additional gameplay elements (races, fights, secrets, puzzles, bosses) too. In contradiction to Freelancer you'll be hardpressed to find a system without some special feature(s); this means lots of mid- and late-game content and always rewarding exploration ! Gameplay-wise [strike]I'm still only in Campaign 2, but the extended base/planet options, gear and ship upgrades are much appreciated; it is not as limited as Freelancer is. And the story thusfar is interesting too. [/strike] I've spent 160+ hours by now, obviously finished the campaign and I'm still finding new systems and haven't done half of the (marked) side-quests yet, it really became it's own universe and game, not merely a Freelancer 'clone' anymore. Another thing that stands out: proper mod support, including very useful mods already, like extra ships or faster warp-speeds, great stuff for veterans of the game and/or genre ! On the down-side, since it is still only a beta and still in development: No voice acting for the text-dialogues yet and some gameplay bugs; but that is as expected and thus I won't reflect that in my score. The amount of content and the quality for a single-dev game is just astonishing imho; and like one of the YT reviewers said, 'please give it a try, you won't be disappointed'; I totally agree, it's a worthy Freelancer 2.0 !
Almost 1:1 Freelancer gameplay, with a truly staggering amount of content beyond the campaign.
This is still a work in progress but that just means it will just get better. I thought it was a smaller game at first, but the more I play it the bigger and more in depth it is. The modern Freelancer but with some lovecraftian vibes with some surprising puzzles sprinkled in.
great game have been a backer since 24 early access late last year trainwiz did an engine overhaul and it went from overly working my 7900xt to no longer breaking a sweat my computer is way overpowered for this game but until that engine overhaul it was a little hard on my system.
what a buggy mess, not even EA material
Cute game definitely inspired by Freelancer. It is vast and scary as hell lol
