Unbox the Room is a quiet little meditation on aesthetic domesticity. It is a soft, deliberate ritual of placing things where they feel right. A cup, a book, a lamp, a sofa, a Dumpling, each item waits patiently for you to decide where it belongs, as if the room itself were holding its breath, as yours slows. The anxieties and stresses of daily existence, slowly seeping out of your aching bones. There’s a soothing rhythm to the process. You open a box, you lift out a life, one singular item at a time, and you arrange it until the space exhales. It’s cozy, tactile, and strangely intimate, like a voidal whisper on the goings-on of Pleasantville. The game doesn’t rush you. The game doesn’t judge you. The game doesn’t demand cleverness. Unbox the Room simply invites you to make a home feel like a home, and in doing so, briefly remember that the concept of gentleness exists. To be honest, the experience could benefit from more individual narrative. I want more insight into who these people are. Maybe add some emotional and possibly physically representative spice. Nothing too graphic, just hints of personality, preferences, small human quirks that make their spaces feel lived in and have you wondering why Grandma has so much leather. A favorite scent, a treasured keep sake, love notes tucked in a shoe box, the appearance of, or the illusion of, a touch of grown‑up warmth would deepen the sense of intimacy and make each room feel like it belongs to someone real. But even without that, Unbox the Room is perfect for players who find comfort in order, placement, and the small domestic aesthetics that make a space feel more. Claramente inspirado en Unpacking, pero tiene un encanto distinto. Es cortísimo y me quedé con ganas de más a pesar del modo sandbox/creativo, pero cumple con lo que promete: una experiencia cozy, jugabilidad relajante y un soundtrack que acompaña. it's a cozy puzzle game where you open boxes, unpack objects, and arrange items to slowly reveal the story behind each room (or no story at all). It's all simple. However, it gets taxing for while. Unpacking is still the best in my opinion. (7/10 || @kimiplays__)
I would not buy this game if it's less than 70% off. Considering I finished the story mode in less than 2 hours (and felt like I took my time doing so), it's just a little expensive otherwise. BUT I thought what was there was very fun.
Unbox the room was very boring. The furniture and decor items (what few decorations there were) were all exactly the same for each client. I don't mind that there wasn't a story line; I was in it for the organization and decorating. The colors of the rooms and items were very depressingly drab. Each room was the same. Cannot recommend.

I've seen a lot of reviews comparing this to Unpacking, and saying this is not as good, which I feel is a bit unfair. As with all popular games, Unpacking has spawned lots of other games of the same type, and this is one of them. Overall, Unbox the Room is an enjoyable experience and scratches the same itch as Unpacking, even if it's not as refined in gameplay or story. And as it only takes 2-3 hours to play, this was a very pleasant way to pass time.
