UFO 50 is a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games that span a variety of genres, from platformers and shoot 'em ups to puzzle games, roguelites, and RPGs. Our goal is to combine a familiar 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 28 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Nintendo publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

good stuff.
Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! UFO 50 was amazing when it came out and remains a wonderful experience- And by that I mean "full of wonder"! I'm a massive cheapskate with games, never buying anything more than $10, but this game at the full $25 was a purchase I can't regret. I fully recommend picking this game up and playing it as blind as possible, so I'll avoid too many details about the games themselves. The longer you wait, the more you'll kick yourself for not having done it sooner! You already know that UFO 50 is actually a collection of 50 games developed by a handful of interconnected teams at Mossmouth, some of whom were moderately prolific Flash game developers on Newgrounds. The games are designed around self-imposed technical limitations in line with hardware of the late 80s, especially the NES. There's a wide range of genres available here; platformer, puzzle, run n' gun, tower defense, metroidvania, collectathon, I could go on! Some are more elaborate than others, but they all have polish and there WILL be a game you'll like as long as you're not a gun and ball gamer and can handle the two-button controls and retro design philosophies. Some games are casual romps that you can chip away at or blast through in a couple hours, some are more involved adventures, and maybe 10 or so are what I'd call "NES Hard" challenges. Even those hardest games are made to be beaten though, and become perfectly palatable when you sit down and learn how they work! Completionists will have a hell of a time with all 50 games, but it's crazy satisfying to see each one light up as you go through them. All of this isn't even to mention the subtle story going on in the background of the games; it's entirely in the background and you can easily ignore it, but if you choose to pay attention to little hints in the descriptions and credits of each game and other secrets, you can piece together a really intriguing story about the history of the in-universe developers of the included games. If you're a fan of alt history, you'll love digging into this! I can't say much more without spoiling the experience I wish I could have for the first time again. Pick this game up, give it a go, and make sure you give every game a fair shake!
Great!
Action 52, if the games were all good. Except Combatants. Still some pretty big and fun games, like Mini and Max. That's practically a standalone game.
