About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

I was a huge fan of the first game, so I'm surprised and disappointed that Fireteam Elite 2 released in such an unpolished state. The gameplay is mostly executed well, but the literal bugs need to be fixed ASAP: * characters/enemies sliding around * doors locking characters out from progressing forward in levels * random controls getting disabled (vaulting, picking up items, etc.) * missions refusing to load after everyone readies up * lack of true drop-in Happy to change my review to something more positive once the issues are addressed.
Game is waaaaayy too expensive for what they are offering. In this day and age of gaming with Dark tide and remnant 2 etc this game cannot justify its price. To be clear I'd be fine with and fine telling a friend "yeah its worth a play" if it was half the current asking price. Cons: - Price. - Glitchy sounds (loud/muffley) in tunnels. - Sound is so unimmersive. sounds like someone has just recorded aliens screeching and presses play when ever an alien is on the screen, cant tell what direction or even that ones on/behind you. - The ample missions that were boasted about in favourable early reviews turned out to be the same stages, you're just running a different direction through them (back tracking). - Similar note, the pathogen aliens are just reskins basically, you get excited then all of a sudden you're like oh thats just a spitter, that ones a drone, that ones a burster... - The worst POSSIBLE writing you could ever think of (I actually get angry when the asian voice over dude is talking, its just so so bad), the usual 'quirky' crap jokes i thought devs had learned people are over. "the trauma ward, thats where people go who listen to my jokes Hur Hurr" - Aliens are actually hard to shoot not in a cool way but because your eyes cant understand thier glitchy back-forward movement, I find the drone the worst for this. -The alien movement in the 1st game seemed like they were individuals taking a unique(ish) path to get to you instead of this game where youre watching 13 aliens walk in an orderly line around the same objects. I went back to old footage to confirm this and sure enough you see 5 aliens (fire team elite 1) come out of the same hole and take 3-4 unique paths (roof, wall, ground) to the player which adds to how frantic the situation feels. - Aliens stuck in walls. - I havn't played one match where multiple aliens didnt do something that looked terrible (floating, stuck, jittering up and down unable to move) so either they didnt play test their game or they did play test it, saw all the same stuff im seeing and went "yeah, slap an $80 price tag on this puppy, these idoits will still buy it" (and I did). - I havn't seen cinematics this choppy since playstation 1. - Everyones facial expressions are terrifying and their mouths are so far from moving with the words they are saying I'd almost prefer they just stayed closed. - Repeated voice lines, if I hear resupply or die folks one more time im going to ♥♥♥♥. I actually hear that line more than i hear 'Rock and stone' in deep rock galactic, those who know, know and no it doesnt get away with it with its charm like DRG. - Oh and my personal favourite, apparently only women run space (half of which are g*y). The devs could have at least added ONE male character to hide thier bias :'D. And before the usual suspects try their 'afraid of women' trope, this is aliens we're talking about, we love characters like Ripley and vasquez because they were done well, this just feels like a bunch of blue hairs bastardizing it to the point that it actually just looks silly. - Ill put this last because its a big one. We can't seem to get anyone to join our games to the point where im googling if its a dead game already, im admittedly OCE which doesnt help but still, day one new game and struggling to get players is crazy, we lowered the difficulty and waitied like 10 mins and got 1 guy. Pros: - Similar to the first game (but feels like another team trying to copy the first because i dont remember the first one being so bad). - Added more attachment variety. - Quite alot of variety with class mods, I cant decide if i like or dislike the idea of specialist ( Im a sucker for everyone having a role) but its interesting at least. - Its quite lenghty to grind all the money you need for mods/guns etc which promotes longevity (in helldivers 2, I disliked how you just have everything in 2 days and dont care about collecting stuff anymore), this unfortunatley doesnt work though if people dont actually feel like playing your game. Hopefully they fix the buggyness but theres no fixing the writing, unfortunatley even if they ironed out all the bugs the game should still be half the asking price. This definetly feels like thier last game of the series theyll make.

Its good where it matters and its bad where it doesn't matter if you enjoyed killing hordes of aliens in the first game then this is an upgrade, classes and weapons feel distinct enough to have decent build diversity and honestly the combat on the higher levels feels like what you would imagine fighting these things would feel like if the cut out all cinematics, dialogue, and cutscenes they could've saved themselves and the consumers tons of money and priced the game in the reasonable 30$ range for the actual gameplay
It's a good game so far, especially if you liked the first one, but it's definitely not worth the price—just so much stuff missing, sadly
This really isn't the sequal i hoped for... I paid money for a reskin of a game that somehow manages to be somewhat worse? There's bugs everywhere and not the good ones that you shoot oh no no... The enemies get stuck, the ai is questionable at times. In truth i can say this with confidence that this game HAD to be rushed in some way, there is just no shot it wasn't. The cutscenes are HORRIBLE, to the point they just cut in and cut out from the gameplay. The animations are stiff... I appreciate the new challenge card system and being able to stack cards, BUT of course they had to reduce the amount you even get of those, if any for free at all. (Atm of writing i have yet to receive a free card from a mission or a box.) Instead you pay for them...? OH! Did i mention you have to get almost half way into the game to unlock them? Or how half of features are locked behind missions so you will actually have to spend time on this sorry excuse of a lazy game? Ofc there are things it does right and i have yet to experience the wave survival gamemode which i hope will be the best thing coming from this but... Another thing is the story, the characters, where do i even begin? SPOILERS Mad scientist? Really? We going with this? Now i don't mind that most of the crew are females, the whole alien franchise is literally built upon a powerful woman aka RIPLEY. But they're so... stereotypical, they feel dumbed down? Especially the not so confident one, lord i only listen to her because the voice actor is the same one as the Maya from cod zombies. Why are there runner xenomorphs? Again. Somehow dark descent managed to make this ♥♥♥♥ make more sense, the common enemies should have been warriors and drones! Thats what ALIENS is all about! The first game sure made sense since they did have a reason for it? The planet's animals yada yada. But here? A colony full of people? How are there so many runners on a spaceship? It just doesn't make bloody sense in terms of ALIEN life cycle?! This game just needs more ironing out, but i fear it will be abandoned like the first, and i can only hope that the devs will fix the glaring issues and add more for the price of this game... Sadly i belive the story itself is a giant doodoo and is just very, very, uninteresting. Especially when we spent 3+ missions just holding E on terminals to gather "intel"...
Somehow worse than the first one. Dialogue is terrible. Sound design is awful. Aliens are jittery and laggy. Some of the class abilities are cool, but honestly the first game was better in nearly every aspect. Grab it on a sale in a year or two after some patches.
I went into this a fan of the original and this feels like a step backwards in a lot of ways. 1. The gameplay. It's exactly the same as the original. Literally nothing is different. And that's a shame because there was a ton of room to innovate. The new classes don't really add very much and the ones from the original still do exactly what they did before. Some new abilities or tactics would have really helped this feel like a new experience but sadly it's very dull and feels like overpriced DLC. 2. The "story". The story is your typical Aliens story with the evil corporation doing experiments and blah blah blah. It honestly feels like a madlib with a completely forgettable plot. The missions are also incredibly dull. It's just go through a linear level, stop at points to fight waves of enemies, and then move on. Granted, that's what the first game was, but there are no big set pieces, no big surprises, and nothing to really blow you away. The first game brought in stuff like the black goo and the engineers and integrated it really well. It felt like a solid addition to the lore and universe of Alien. That is no on offer here. 2. The characters. The characters and the writing are god awful. The majority of them are gassed up mids playing tough. Seriously, there are only two male characters and one of them is an idiot. Captain Ko is perhaps one of the most annoying characters ever introduced. She's some ultra badass and talks tough but really she's just annoying. They also have her doing Marine stuff when she's a pilot. The whole hotshot snarky pilot act fit her character in the first game but they upgraded her to be a major character and it just doesn't work at all. Not even close. They also all refer to you as "hotshot" all the time and I swear the writing is nonstop cringey jokes. Nobody in Aliens told jokes like this. There was humor, but it was actually funny. Here it's Reddit-level humor or Marvel movie dialogue. It doesn't fit the Alien universe and whoever wrote this should never work in games again. 3. It should have been $30-40. Asking $50 for this is way too much and it's going to hurt the game's success. You would have had more sales at a lower pricepoint but they went for the extra $$$. I thought the price meant more content and a better experience, but the game actually has less content than the original and is worse by about every metric. I am not having fun playing this and I'm a die-hard Aliens fan. How they managed to fumble the bag so badly is really beyond me. 4. Music and sound. The sound design is awful and besides the motion tracker ping they took none of the iconic sounds from the films. The pulse rifle doesn't sound like the movie at all and to unlock the original one you have to grind up to level ten. I still have probably two or three more hours of playtime before I get there. The weapons also don't feel like they have any impact as enemies don't react or make noises when hit. A huge part of Aliens is the sound and music and this is another area where they fumbled badly. The soundtrack sounds like someone farting through a French horn. 5. To pad the gameplay they put anything you would want to equip like new cosmetics or weapons behind the steep walls of fort grindmore. You will be grinding for literal hours just to get the option to buy more weapons and then you'll need the credits to get them so that's more grinding. None of the cosmetics are unlockable at the beginning and the engineer is the only one that looks kinda sorta like a colonial marine. This is another shame because I thought their take on the armor in the first game was really cool but everything in this one so far looks like slop. They won't even let you preview cosmetics, you have to unlock them first to see what they look like. All in all I'm pretty disappointed. I'm a huge Aliens fan and love supporting games where we get to see the Marines but this is just a lazy, soulless, boring game where the first one was genuinely good if a bit repetitive. They needed to up their game for the sequel, especially after charging more for it, and they completely missed the mark. Wait for a sale before you buy, if you get this game at all.
The Game goes from a 3 to a 5 when you turn off the dialogue. not worth the price. most missions look the same. connection issues. some of the worst characters in a game.
