About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

Reviews
Builds upon the first game and is definitely more than just a "DLC". I did have some stuttering when going through doorways but only a few times. Had some occurrences where the AI stood still and not fire on enemies but this lasted a couple of seconds, not enough to say it's a bad game. I guess you can say there are some cringy lines but that's really subjective. Honestly, I don't understand the review bombing. Good game.
this game is pretty much what aliens was to alien “I want to call it Aliens, because we’re not dealing with one. Now we’re dealing with an army" Enemy variety is much much greater compared to the first and so is enemy quantity while at the same time taking down the enemy hp sponginess that plagued the first game. 4player squads and a massive buff to melee which pretty much works like vt2/l4d push are another reason why the high enemy count works out well for the game. Maps are nice, Ost is pretty decent for the most part but i think the 1st was better in that regard. The freedom with the weapon and perk system is actually totally nuts offering way more freedom than 1st once the moving pieces are unlocked which also makes leveling stuff very rewarding. Bots are useable but overall still Pepega since they dont scale like players do, unlike the 1st the difference of a 0 gear char to maxed is much much greater, hence bots fall of pretty hard later on but at least you can give them orders now. Only major technical issues i have are stutters, 99.9% of the time it runs really smooth on my high end rig but the prologue mission is by far the worst offender when it comes to stutters which i also think lead to so many negative reviews. That said the emphasis on "story" and characters was really dumb and feels like a waste of resources (please seperate combat grunts from npc dialogue in audio) and there is quite a few bugs just like with the first game did not release in the best state, pretty sure audio is super bugged which is actually why pulse rifle sounds off for example. Price tag is a little too high especially with the missteps with "story" and characters, "ending" feels very rushed overall game needed a bit more time. For now wait for first few patches or sale but at its core this is a really really good horde game with a great gameplay foundation.

gameplay-wise it's essentially a standalone expansion for the first game: same as before, but now with more enemy variety, more character customization, more class levels, more perks, more missions. still has - one of the best weapon customization system in the genre, accompanied by the best stat screens in the genre - (subjectively) the best skill/perk system in the genre - (objectively) the best mission customization system in the genre. if you liked the first game - you're probably gonna like this one. writing though was blindfolded, taken behind a barn, shot in the back of the head, tossed off a cliff and then eaten by wolves. it is atrocious and i have no idea why, since the first game was great in this regard. also (atm) has some bugs and performance issues.
Honestly, the game is pretty fun IF you can get past the absolutely horrendous dialog from every single NPC in the game. It's borderline distracting during a firefight, but the game is still fun.
Is it perfect? No. Is it a bit wonky? Yes. Worth the 50€ pricetag? It is fun and has quite a bit of content, but it certainly has a lot of very rough edges. Comparing it to other games, that come at lower price points, I would say "it is not". Everyone has to judge by themselves, how much 50 € is to them and what they would be willing to spend it on or not. Animations look stiff like hell. Voice acting seems to be done by one man and one woman and for some characters they shifted the pitch. I look at you Asian woman with the Mickey Mouse tune in the voice. Really awful. There is quite a bit of framedrops, even if it runs pretty well in terms of average FPS. The usual Unreal Engine framedrops. The controls feel a bit like from 20 years ago. The menus are a ♥♥♥♥ show, totally unimmersive and really hard to read the more important information from the stuff showing on your screen. As if total amateurs made the game and had no time to put much thought into it. And the god-awful "conversations" and cutscenes, that try to tell something, that I would not call a "story"... They should have simply left those out. Better story would have been: "You're a badass marine in a desparate situation and now go slay loads of Aliens". Done. Would have been miles better. Better than having to push the skip-button 100× between each mission. But I guess Hotshots have to be punished in between each mission. Drop in and out during missions does not work on PC. When someone leaves the game, you have to finish with bots until the end. In general it does feel like 4 people made the game and had too little time and resources on their hand. Buuuut: The gameplay is fun! Once you are out there with 3 others and slay Aliens, it does work. It is simply fun. Good presentation of Aliens vs Marines. Classes are distinctive and meaningful, guns are diverse and pack a punch, there are many mechanics, which all have good reason for existence and which contribute to success or unsuccessful mission outcome. Difficulties are well tuned, mission modifiers are cool, lots of variety in missions, even if most of them look and feel pretty similar. Many different kinds of Aliens. Big tank ones, small crawly ones, exploders, spitters, mini-bosses, facehuggers and so on and so on. And the androids are enjoyable too and break up the constant Alien action. Weapon stats are cool. Each stat has a reason and meaningful impact. And I have to tell, the options are great! You can tune many, many things to your liking. Interface, controls, camera, everything. I wish more games did that. That is such a small thing, but it has such a great impact on making the game enjoyable. I never played the first game, so I cannot compare. But I do like this one. Not perfect, but with a couple of patches they could remove many of the negative points. I recommend to anyone, who enjoys WWZ. But be warned: WWZ is MUCH, MUCH more polished and a LOT smoother experience. But it soothes my itch for more.
One step forward, multiple steps back: I have played 50 hours on AFTE2. I have played nearly 200 hours on AFTE1. I waited until I completed most of the content before posting any type of review/comment. I have to say I only want this game to succeed but as of now, I do not suggest you buy this game for these reasons: -numerous bugs. I will not list them all but here are a few: cannot pick up items such as med kits without switching weapons or firing, weird graphical glitches, doors not opening because of stuck enemies, sound issues, not actually getting rewards such as cosmetics/attachments/etc. It seems they did not do enough testing and rushed the release. -lack of official reviews. I find it disturbing that no major media publications have even reviewed this game and its already out. It is like its being blacklisted or embargoed. -horrific NPC chatter. It will make you mute your game. Whoever wrote it should throw themselves off a cliff for publishing something so awful. -lack of immersion. Cookie cutter home base design. Ai written background lore for the weapons/intel. Budget version home base. No shooting range to test guns. Poorly developed characters. Poorly designed missions. They did not design the missions as well as the first game. None are memorable. Even the queen fight. You wont want to repeat the missions for fun or even to grind. I just stuck with horde mode to level everything so I wouldnt have to deal with so many bugs/crappy cut scenes. -not enough content to justify increased price. cookie cutter effort was made to make this game. This game needs a lot more additional content to justify an increased price. You should only buy this game if you are BOTH, a fan of the IP AND enjoyed AFTE1. AFTE2 is a shell of the original. More expensive and the only thing noteworthy that they added is instead of 3 players per mission, its 4. The specialist is a joke. You get a class that can do everything and makes the other classes obsolete. The graphics look the same. There are some added effects when you fire some guns. Honestly, thats about it. Until they at least fix the game breaking and multitude of annoying bugs, I would sort of suggest anyone buy this game. Honestly, I doubt the devs will fix this game and I have a feeling they will abandon it. It is a shame because AFTE1 was a diamond in the rough. Idk what the hell happened to the sequel, but it is a shame. If the devs manage to fix the game, I will modify my review. Until then, I would wait for a sale or just wait another 5 years for AFTE3, if it even gets made. RIP
It's got some glitchy animations, enemies getting stuck on things, some quality issues here and there. Not really a major problem, and those can be fixed. Menus and interface are gorgeous. Good voice acting. However, it was kinda unstable. I kept getting huge frame loses randomly. It would run smooth, then just tank to 4 frames per seconds, then back to 60+. Game also crashed once on me while I was spectating team. Overall though, game was just kinda boring. There was no variation in what we were doing. It was extremely predictable; "I guess we're gonna hold this corner while exactly 3 waves of enemies come at us". Then walk 100 yards, and do it again. Repeat until level ends.
Worse than the first in every way. There's nothing new and it feels lazy in so many places. Gameplay wise: - No innovation from the first game at all. I've played the first 3/6 chapters and there are no new enemies. The game hints at a new enemy type the "Pathogen" later on but a single new enemy type for a sequel? Come on. - Consumables are maybe more abundant than the first game which is the only good thing - Weapons are arguably more restricted because of the Primary and Special catergories and their solution is the secret additional specialist class to mix and match abilities and builds. - The card system is a diluted version of the first game introduced later and locked behind steep currency costs which make them unfeasible to interact with in your first playthrough because otherwise you can't buy new weapons or new weapon mods. The game also just barely gives you cards compared to the first game. - Bot AI is so bad. The move to 4 players was such a bad idea. To avoid friendly fire, when you point at a bot, they move to the side but often times this will be in the way of another player's line of fire and bots continue to run around in front of you even if you are standing still shooting. - Enemy AI getting stuck constantly and getting softlocked - Endless bugs, the worst was at the end of 4.3 where we had to interact with the terminal 12 times in a row in order for it to move on then when the level ended, we were black screened then back in the game for a couple seconds before it actually finished the level. - I did my playthrough with a friend, I was a Medic and they were marauder. The amount of explosions from 1 marauder, if there were more, my eyes would explode. - The perk system is a DOWNGRADE. The perk space is unchanged from the first game but they got rid of the unique shapes like L so now everything is rectangles or squares only. They added more replacement abilities so you can make more builds but if you just have the one build that works then you'll never notice this. Especially because a lot of the replacement abilities objectively suck. Like what do you mean I can replace my healing station with a poison station that DAMAGES me? - Automatic flashlight. Just let me toggle my own flashlight. Immersion wise: - Vents are tiny and it's so obvious that xeno's just get deleted and disappear whenever they "run away" and the clipping when they come out of vents just makes the presentation of the game so lazy - The lip syncing and cutscenes are so embarrassing but you can already see that in the trailers. - Meaningless story, every mission is "interact with terminals" then "escape as it blows up". The early environments were a nice change from the first game because it was open colony environments. - Recoil is purely in the camera, the animation of the recoil is like you're shooting a nerf gun. Watch your friend shoot a revolver and it looks so pathetic.
