Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 4 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Truxton Extreme delivers white-hot shooter thrills for masters and novices alike. Take down hordes of alien invaders with your Power Shot, Truxton Beam, Thunder Laser, Homing Shot, Star‑mine Shot, and more! Don't forget to breathe as you face off against gigantic bosses in the ultimate battle for humanity’s survival
The game’s content, sound, and visuals have all evolved since the 80s. Truxton Extreme is now fully rendered in 3D while preserving the series’ iconic design. Staring insect-like faces, writhing metal tentacles, long mechanical serpents, glowing eye-like lights, and spikes… In Truxton Extreme, you’ll face your worst nightmares—and blow them to pieces!
Truxton has always been famous for its soundtrack, and Truxton Extreme is no exception. Original mastermind Masahiro Yuge returns with an explosive new score, packed with excitement and atmosphere. Experience iconic Truxton tracks reimagined from the original games alongside brand-new music. It’s the best of both worlds!
There are multiple ways to enjoy Truxton Extreme. The main mode is Story, where you follow three characters, level up as you go, and experience the narrative through an epic (and animated) manga series. For traditionalists, there's Arcade, and if you want more firepower, Team will let you play together with a friend and share your lives and score. Then there's a blistering score-attack Arena, Training and Tutorial too!
Do you love unlocking bonus content in games? Well, it’s your lucky day! In Model Viewer, you can check out the enemies you’ve defeated. And don’t forget to visit the mysterious Pipiru Village, home of all the cute Pipiru creatures. What happens when you evolve their home…?
Truxton was conceived by Masahiro Yuge during his time at Toaplan, with the goal of creating a scrolling shooter where muscle memory was key. But Yuge wasn’t just a programmer, he was a classically trained pianist, bringing a unique and critically acclaimed approach to game design

This is my favorite game of 2026 easy. If you want to play a game that is ultra mega turbo bosa nova power level over 9,000!!! bodacious sauce. Then your in luck, cause that is this game.
Pretty much as good as it gets for a shmup. I have only played two levels thus far but had to come write a review. I only found out this game even existed by chance by reading a random comment mentioning it in an unrelated game, and I am very thankful I did. SUPER tight, basically zero lag controls, resolution settings, killer soundtrack, full control remapping, new weapons that were neither in T1 or T2, 6 stages and 3 characters to play through them with (I am not sure yet if the campaigns are different however the first level is the same for each character), a really easy mode that only seems to be a single level so I don't see the point, and a pure arcade mode which is unlocked when you beat the first level of story mode. The only criticism is that I believe you get powered up to the max level way too fast, by the end of stage 1 actually, and I did die one time and maintained my weapon and power, however it sends you back a little which is a bit old school - there should be an option to respawn in death spot IMO. But I am nitpicking, as the production values are insanely good for a shmup, the music is gorgeous and the controls are just SO tight.. oh and for a first for Truxton, you get control over your speed, so it makes sense to pick up all the S icons so you can max out and then get points (if you are a score chaser) on each pickup, then have 6 speed levels you can cycle between ( I set it to LB for slow down and RB to speed up). It's a true 144 fps with Vsync on on my 144hz panel, so I presume it may have support for even much higher FPS for those with faster screens and more powerful GPUs, and does use about 55% of a 4090m @4K, so just for the sake of pure PC silence I set it to 1440p. Honestly, I know it sounds weird to say, but they have done some sort of programming wizardry, as there is precisely zero perceivable input lag with vsync on AND using a bluetooth controller of all things. I tested with firing and movement and there is no delay whatsoever as soon as the dpad clicks. Oh yes, of course, as any good 2D game should, it's YOUR choice whether to use dpad or stick:) This game is also ideal for arcade stick users due to the full control customisation. Worth every penny as it's just so enjoyable. Recommended for shmup fans. Look, it hasn't been particularly hard so far, I will be honest, and I only died once on stage 2 on my very first go at it, but I presume 3/4/5/6 will start getting brutal, and perhaps a hardcore mode can be unlocked once the story is beaten?? Not sure yet but will hopefully find out soon:) PS I almost forgot to mention the power shot, it's glorious especially with the white heat seeking weapon, it just looks amazing and you feel like Godzilla. Cheers
the game is great
If you never played the first 2 Truxton games (they're on Steam too) this is a revival of one of Toaplan's many difficult 1980s-1990 vertical shooters with odd names (they made a shooter called Slap Fight. Yeah) which were difficult but solid. This one clearly is old school for the new school. It's not bullet hell (outside of a couple spots) so it plays more like a classic shooter and it takes up the whole screen so on a widescreen monitor/TV it looks great esp in HD. It's not terribly difficult for the most part, in particular if you learn from your mistakes and memorize when/where enemies appear, the story mode is a nice spin on the game with comic book-style storytelling and offers some replay value and there's an "easy" mode for beginners that makes you pretty much invincible but you can only play half the first stage. As a whole it's a great looking and playing revival of an old-school challenge, but more accessible and maybe a little too easy (no difficulty level options, at least not initially-that's my only real complaint right now is it feels too easy). And there's a free demo to try before you buy, so give that a go first then buy this. (I don't own the DLC so no thoughts there, but they just appear to be alternate skins & soundtracks from the first 2 Truxton games and another Toaplan shooter so those are completely optional, you can wait for sales to pick them up)
The story mode is excellent and makes this awesome game truly unforgettable!
Absolutely no idea how I used to play this as a kid on Sega Genesis...
