TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.
The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.
10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.
All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.
Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.
There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.
Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.
As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

Reviews
If your fan of JRPG's and XCOM 2 type tactics this is the game for you. Inbuilt complexity of the mastery (skill) system is cool as their are over 800 masteries ranging from simple stat increases to stacking buffs based on the specific skill types you collect. Story and how the team dynamics is engaging Also with diverse enemy types it makes things more unpredictable and at higher levels enemies start to get more complex which makes the game more fun requiring change in strategy to neutralise. 10/10 highly recommend.
absolute fun game

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of the biggest hidden gems I've ever played. What looks as a simple anime themed tactics game hides an incredibly in depth system that just expands upon itself the more you play. AT the time of writing I have 129 hours and I'm still learning new things about the game and new mechanics are being added. The one gripe I have is that the game's information is not conveyed in a way that helps the player with that complexity. Tooltips are long, information is hidden away in places you would not think to look, and the lack of an in game glossary of terms and a new player on boarding tutorial is not as fleshed out as it should be. If you can persevere through that and get grabbed on it, it's one of the most fun and engaging strategy tactics game I've played. It's worth sinking your money into it. And at it's non-AAA price point, it's incredibly worth what you pay for.
This is a tentative positive review. The TRPG gameplay is really good, some of the best I've seen, even if the ways you can play are really tied down to what the characters can do, which limits *some* tactical freedom, but the (fairly esoteric) passive skill system gives you a lot of freedom to sculpt these characters to certain playstyles. It seemed like every mission one of the characters I had overlooked came into their niche and carried the fight. There's a little bit of grind to get your gang of freaks into fighting shape, but it's usually alright as long as you avoid fighting the crabs later on in the game. I repeat, do not go to crab island. The characters range from likable to stock planks of wood. The worldbuilding is okay at times, but the game doesn't really do much with it. The story is nothing special, though I do like that it shows the perspective of the villains even if everything boils down to "punch criminal in face". But even then there are a lot of loose ends, which I assume might be covered in the DLC that I don't have, but it feels weird including certain story elements in the base game if they only get resolved in the DLC. The moment-to-moment dialogue writing felt weird, which might just come down to translation woes. If you're a fan of TRPG with unique skill systems, this is a good game. The mechanics are great, but don't expect Baldur's Gate levels of writing.
