It has the appearance of Final Fantasy Tactics but NONE of the depth. It plays a lot more like Fire Emblem. There is NO ability to change classes. There is no ability to to change equipment. You cannot buy new recruits. There is so freaking much dialogue!!! Too much. I would not recommend this to any fans of Final Fantasy Tactics.
I can't respect this game enough for its lore and themes. In that, it is a work of art. Sure, plenty of novels and what not that are "better," but game should be willing to tell difficult stories and this is one of those games. That being said, as someone who loves TRPGs, I didn't really enjoy this as much. The relatively low playtime probably suggests that, and I'm pretty sure I'll come back to it when I'm ready. No doubt some naysayers will say "you didn't put enough time into it, how dare you leave a negative review." The issue, friend, is the 2 hour mark for a refund request and how it seems many more users are wiser (or maybe less forgiving, take your pick) than I am and request that refund. There's a series of Youtube Videos by TheHearthGuy about this game and its world. If you've a lore nerd like me, you should probably just stick with those. The UI manages to be both similar to Tactics Ogre Reborn yet even more agonizing to work with. I'm probably too small brained from gacha games and the likes of Fire Emblem, that could be part of it, but battles feel like a slog especially in early game and, unlike many similar games (TRPGs), there are fewer indicators to know how best to proceed during a fight. I love that this is built into the alignment points system, that every choice you make basically becomes crucial due to this: do you waste time trying to desperately heal your wounded ally? Do you just soldier on even if you lose that one alignment point in morality because you just want the battle to end already? In a way it's brilliant, but it's not entertaining. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this is honestly how I feel. This game is brilliant in so many ways, but it's still a video game. If this were a movie, yeah the other reviews might be right: voice acting needs to have a bit more passion and energy, maybe cut down the dialogue and improve the pacing, some paths would have to be cut and redone as an alternate spinoff show, but it has a massive amount of potential on that front. But this is a video game. As a video game, it has an obligation to be entertaining. If it is not entertaining, its intended audience might need to approach it with discretion. Seems like a lot of people love this, but I'm not one of them.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm enjoying my play through very much. If you don't like a game with a lot of story, this will not be the game for you, as there is a LOT of dialog in-between fights. Sometimes, I don't even fight anything for an hour+. The story is interesting to me so I don't mind. It has a JRPG Game of Thrones feel to it. The choices you are presented with can be a tough choice, and I know I will play through again to see how the game branches into a different path. There is a voting system in the game that you must convince others in your party to do what choice you want. So far, I have always gotten my way. I think I would be annoyed if the game went in a direction I didn't want it to (Probably save scum it). That is the only negative thing for me. The combat is fun, though for a veteran like myself who has played many tactic games before, it feels a little bare bones. TLDR: If you like a simple tactic game with a complex and dialog heavy story, you will like this game.
I've been studying Japanese through video games, and I came across Triangle Strategy while watching the Game Gengo channel, so I gotta ask: How come so few people have played this game? How come it's only got 1356 reviews on Steam and an average of 77% positive reviews?? Triangle Strategy is an amazing tactical JRPG. At about the 7th chapter, I was so in love with it and its world that I decided I simply had to go for the Golden Ending, since I usually don't play through games more than once anymore (adult life, yay). It's not like the game's perfect, though. I do have a few gripes with the story, such as
Falkes not really doing anything in the route where you defend Roland, even though he says he'll send help, and then just proceeding to die in a cutscene
,
Avlora and Maxwell "dying" and coming back in the exact same manner
and the fact that I think the overarching theme has been done to death, especially in JRPGs. However, the game has a lot of positives: +Charismatic characters, even if some of them are admitedly a bit one-dimensional; ++Very diverse cast of 30 playable characters, each with their own unique quirks and contributions to the party; +Excellent voice-acting in Japanese; +Very interesting world and story set in a medieval fantasy world, kind of Game of Thrones-esque; +Great music that fits the atmosphere (and for setting it in the background when studying or working). And, for my fellow students of Japanese: +The game is almost fully voiced (only some parts of the game aren't voiced, such as when you're in exploration mode, but I had no problem using Deepseek to transcribe the text for me); +There is a log with ALL the dialogs, and you can play back the audio too; +All the text is "push to continue"; +There is quite a lot to read. I had a great time playing this title. Would definitely give it at least a solid 8.5/10.
最cjb的游戏,一堆测评天天搁哪儿吹神作,剧情一坨屎,全程刷刷刷,一点爽点都没有,窝囊废龟龟必吃榜,天平系统更是弱智中的弱智,强行喂屎。
Triangle Strategy is seriously one of the best tactics games I have ever played. BEFORE BUYING just know that if you can't handle long story elements and extended dialog then maybe steer clear honestly, the game really doesn't start moving until about 2-3 hours in but when it does ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it really brings you on for a crazy ride. The best way I can describe Triangle Strategy is a perfect mix of Game of Thrones & Final Fantasy. The world is brutal and gritty but with likable characters and villains that will have you cheering for their downfall. Honestly the best part of the game for me is how you make your choices, its a party based system where you have to convince one side and usually 1-2 undecided to vote with what story choice you want. This is my second play through of the game the first being on a different console but with the 4 major endings and a 5th bad ending it has kept me coming back. 8/10 and honestly the only reason I don't score it a 9 or 10 is the fact that the beginning is VERY lengthy and I understand that turns off a lot of people.
takes like 3 hours of cutscenes to get any gameplay. Boring story too, game's just a slog.
Overall: 5/10 Triangle Strategy is a beautiful 2D-3D game, with an interesting premise bogged down by poor gameplay elements, and an unfortunate lack of world-building and character development. Music: 5/10 Music is good, sound effects are good, VA… this was by far the worst part, and I sincerely did not want to listen to the characters speak at all. Oh, and the narrative between characters, terrible, useless to say the least. Visuals: 7.5/10 2D-3D is really nice, blending the classic look of older games, with a few more modern approaches. Gameplay: 4/10 This is one of the biggest offenders of all, and one of the main reasons I can’t recommend the game. The gameplay pushes you to be reactive, rather than proactive since you will always be outnumbered, outgunned, and outskilled. Late game battles are even worse with most enemies being able to act twice constantly and fighting scores of healers and mages at the same time. That’s without counting the old and classic crappy game decision of having bosses basically immune to all status effects. Scales of conviction, which is the main element meant to differentiate the game, is a hassle for several story reasons too, and it is practically a skill-based choice plus some investigation which is tedious and detracts from the game. The last offender is how the game handles progression and the UI. Sure, you get upgrades, new skills, but a lot of the times those are situational at best, or useless at worst. Plus 1 movement or get more attack or def, there is absolutely no reason to pick that one unless you really need to jump. And then of course, you have skills that push enemies, change turn order, attack anyone who approaches certain hexes, but that could be more clear to plan ahead the strategy. Story: /410 I am giving this a 4, and I feel I am being kind. There is absolutely zero character development, besides Frederica becoming a bit more confident. There is no sense of scale or timeframe. Battles happen, armies move, the people get assimilated, and it seems to happen in a week or less because of the lack of information. Characters are unable to make decisions unless everyone votes, and the lord of the house, commander of the only available army, has no voice (And I know that is because the Golden Route changes this, but that is a stupid decision). Your genius steward will never change and will always think his plan is the only way forward despite you being able to constantly take other paths and less optimal decisions and push forward. Your group of advisors consists of 1 guard, 1 spy (who does whatever your steward says), a healer, and they have no reason to take part in the most important decisions at all. The king will yield for whatever you wish to do, and won’t bat an eye. It simply is a poorly implemented choice in the game. And that is without counting all the characters that join and outside of their stories, have no impact on the story itself. You learn a bit about them, and that’s it. Why are you sending a merchant to the frontlines? a former clown? and a geriatric archer? who knows. The last thing I will mention, but is not the only one, is that the game is treated as mature, yet by seeing the portraits you know who is a villain, who will betray you. All the villains are 1 dimentional and have no real motivation, same as their underlings. Oh, we just lost the heirs to the throne, ⅓ or more of our army, our advantage, and our lord wants us to die again? sure thing, let’s do that. This guy betrayed me twice with the same bandits/mercenaries, sure, let’s show him mercy, no way it will bite me in the ass again.
