Really fun game, played maybe 65ish hours on windows to go through story, NG+, Dead Out & some jonkler races. Took a break for a few months and tried it on linux this past week. It's an even better game now with the changes to the tracks, & the new game modes. Only issues I've had is with tokyo, it doesn't run as well as the others, but nothing that will make you lose a race because of it. The bots are fun to race against, as long as you don't make yourself TOO fast (figure 8 caged race w/ a little badger, you will double-lap the bots if you stay high on the walls). It HAS big track racing if that's what you want, but keep in mind that it's a vehicle combat racing game first.
feels like a bad ps2 game.

Imposible
Flatout was fun, ran on every toaster hardware out there. Nothing good to say about this one since I struggle to get it playable or real "ingame" impressions - even when turning all graphics / resolution down to the very bottom. I can achieve 25 fps for 3 seconds or so, the constant lagging & freezing makes Trailout totally unplayable here. Since users with very good hw conditions also reported performance problems i feel confirmed with my opinion. It's a shame nowadays developers do not optimize their games anymore. They have their well-off customers & don't care about low end gamers at all. The game looks even worse than any PS2 Flatout game if all graphics option are set to the lowest possible entries. Additionally adjusting the GameUserSettings.ini did not really improve the performance further for me. By turning shadows off and using an aweful 640×360 resolution results lead to astounding 14 - 27 fps, including permanent freezing every few seconds. Anyway I got a foil worth the game's keyshop price I payed for. No loss for me at all devs!
played this once early last year and haven't touched it since
Just finished, this game. Gameplay is fun, story and narrative is cheesy but its servicable, as it gives me classic game vibes. I love the art style and the fact that there are maps and modes from games like Flatout and others it took inspiration from. I would say that other than the occasional crash and performance dips, it is a petty fun game. I originally started playing on steamdeck, but it didnt run all to well, ince I got my xbox ally x, it ran much better. I hope to see more from the developers!
While there's fun to be had, and I know it was made by a small team, I have a few problems with it. * The physics are inconsistent and unpredictable. Cars feel very light, and it's quite easy to roll your vehicle. * Early in the game, cash rewards from Career races are very small, so you'll likely have to grind for fans and money in other game modes to unlock and buy better cars capable of beating the AI. * Performance issues occur on larger tracks with more elaborate props, which is somewhat expected from a UE5 game. * Be prepared to restart races multiple times, as it's quite difficult to catch up after an accident. * Even if you purchase the DLCs, you'll still have to unlock and buy the DLC cars using in-game currency. Get the game when it's on a deep sale. You'll probably get a few laughs out of it, even if some of its frustrations keep it from being a game you'll come back to often.
