Under the influence of the second spring snow "incident", Gensokyo passed a brief summer and welcomed the autumn wind. The annual Mid-Autumn Festival event - the Lunar Capital Exhibition - was held as scheduled, but this year seemed livelier than usual. As the full moon, emitting strange moonlight, rose, a huge curtain that spanned Gensokyo had quietly fallen. Before everyone could react, the night sky of Gensokyo had completely paused, and many youkai that were usually only heard in rumors had appeared. And tonight's Lunar Capital Exhibition banquet was attracting batches of nearby youkai to come...

For her, countless deadly battles took place in the bamboo forest every day, and sudden large-scale conflicts like this were nothing out of the ordinary. However, as she watched the youkai uprising gradually escalate to a point where both Keine and Mokou were struggling to cope, and even Keine began to act strangely, she finally decided not to stay out of it any longer.
"Gensokyo may have already been enveloped in the chamber created by Eientei, it seems that individual intends to expand this grand event to the entire place."

A remake of TouHou 8: Imperishable Night, this game looks exactly like what you expect for a modern day bullet hell. Compared to the previous games, this one has the difficulty toned down by a notch, but the graphics gets cranked up all the way, making it a much more casual experience. The remixes of each character's music theme is such a pleasure to listen to as always, making you lock in especially during those boss fights. I highly recommend this game as a starting point for anyone interested in Bullet-Hell / Shoot 'em Ups, as the difficulty in this game is as easy as it can get for new players to get into.
I have tried quite a few, and in all honesty, this one is the best out of the shooters. The rest just had too many issues. Made it through, but they were riddled with balancing issues, let alone bad patterns that I for some reason kept hitting. This one is much better with the pattern, as well as necessary improvements. Two of which allows you to use I think it was rage or whatever it was called. This allows for a burst attack, that does not penalize spellcard capture. You also do have some leeway when taking damage before losing a life. Another allows you to expend two bombs to survive a hit. The same applies with the boss spell card, can't use yours, otherwise you won't capture it. Once again, kinda pointless to have spellcards in the game if you can't use it, but I suppose if you lose a life. You won't capture it anyway, so might as well at that point. Overall, it is a much better game. With the new mechanics, which includes a secondary mode that has much wider range, this one ends up having the tools needed to deal with the situations, so all you gotta do is pay attention to the bullets, and not have to worry about an unavoidable situation. Which I ran into a lot in previous entries for some reason, not once in this one. One problem I had in previous ones was visibility, they'd use a very light pattern, which meant I couldn't read it. This was very terribly designed like with Sakuya in part 1. The only instance of this was in the last phase of the final boss, which could be shaped up. I still don't know how I won, but I had to expend bombs to survive and clear out the place. This game almost had it all very well, except for that one moment, where I just didn't know what was going on. Light patterns, things coming from everywhere, I just couldn't read it. Though, I did get through it, so...eh? Anyway, it is a lot easier to get life and bombs in this version as well. Giving you more situational uses. So, all in all, pretty good game.

Modern rendition of one of the best Touhou STGs (Imperishable Night), with killer art, music, and mechanics. Definitely easy on Normal, so bump up the difficulty if you're not brand new. (I wouldn't recommend less than Normal for anybody, though. Otherwise it just doesn't feel like a Touhou game.) Also works with my various controllers and monitors with zero issues (which was not the case with many of the previous games). Easily the best game to get someone into the Touhou style. Very well done.
