Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.43/day in the week to Aug 15 → 5.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I'd say this is one of the more polished Total War games, it mixes the fun of melee-styled Total War, including the Rise of the Samurai DLC building around this further. SHOGUN 2 has a mix of stuff similar to Total War Empire and Napoleon with the Fall of the Samurai DLC, introducing firearms and more modern equipment. Honestly, I really like the game taking place in the Shogunate and Imperial era of Japan as it feels like a really cool scenario and quite a niche time in history that not many people look at. Combat is quite smooth and fun, and I find that the campaigns in SHOGUN 2 play very interestingly and in my opinion are very fun compared to a lot of other Total War games. Naval combat is done quite well in SHOGUN 2 compared to previous titles. I don't have too much to say mainly cause I haven't played it for that long but it is quite a fun game and I reccomend it to anyone who enjoys the Total War series or tactical styled top down games in general.
Intensely addictive, fast paced battles that test your micro, Aggressive AI that keeps you from getting complacent, A huge list of choices that all have huge opportunity costs from each other Branching skill trees that make Generals & agents incredibly powerful An amazing overlap of medieval & gunpowder warfare Easily the most polish of the historical Total War games One of the best in the franchise and genre, hands down

Its probably more a me thing but i didn't like this too much. Compared to other Total war you don't get any post battle loot/prisoners meaning one good source of income is just gone from this edition if you get zerged by ai on higher levels you just have to deal with it. Most come from the economy in this game. The base Yari is so strong that they can carry you through the entire campaign on medium difficulty. The settlements don't display their factual income bothers me a lot too, they show 'wealth' which you tax so they display 1000+ but you may only get 20% of that making it 200 so you can own a goldmine and still feel dirt poor. Units cost their full upkeep even when damaged, tho some other titles do this too just means that even tho this have a replenish system unlike Medieval II you kind of want to combine very hurt units rather than replenish them to get rid of their upkeep even if hiring new ones also cost money. The General units feel weird, they are super weak in this mostly due to a many early units are spears which just melts cav in this. Sure cav was a little too good in Medieval II. The Free estate design of Cities is a bit weird too, you get very few defenders in the base game, semed to be a bit better in the expansion but base you just get one or two defenders at early city levels. In like Med II you had to recruit militias yourself that was free in cities sure but... The Forts are also really tiny, still worth holding them but archers can reach most of the fort just standing outside even if higher levels make it a bit better.
