Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Well, sir. On first sighting Napoleon: Total War, I naturally gave the order to purchase it; that's my style, sir! I downloaded the game and engaged the enemy. Major Lennox panicked, so I spent over 1,000 hours playing, and acquired all the achievements. I have written to Sega, sir, to state that the Creative Assembly team acquitted themselves most commendably in discharging both your general orders, to design a game; and your particular order to make it fantastic.
Look, the Russian winter attrition mechanic is total unbalanced ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and Wellington is a massive camper who just spams infantry squares on hills with zero skill. Not to mention my support player, Grouchy, went completely AFK at Waterloo while Blücher stream-sniped my right flank. But despite the devs clearly being paid off by the British, there is absolutely no better feeling than micromanaging a Grand Battery of 12-pounders to completely vaporize an English frontline. Ruling Europe and rewriting history is absolute peak gameplay. 10/10, would get exiled to St. Helena again just to play one more turn. VIVE L'EMPEREUR!

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Game is still very much alive and has an active mod community even in 2026. If you're a serious Napoleonic history buff, I'd suggest installing NTW3 or another overhaul mod. The base game offers very little in terms of replay ability, besides the Europe campaign. Hopefully we'll get a remaster if Creative Assembly ever eventually decides to stop making out with Warhammer.
Still playing in 2026 with mods. If you are a fan of Napoleonic warfare, then this game is for you. It has improved gameplay compared to Empire: TW but is much smaller in scale. The modding community have continued to improve the base game. I hope we someday get a newer version of this gem with the Empire map and Napoleon improvements. An open-world style gameplay option between 1750 thru 1890 would be incredible with options for US civil war campaigns and smaller conflicts during this period.
갑자기 생각나서 해봤는데 할만함
16 years have passed since its release. 16 years ago, this was simply an incredible game for me, an easy 10/10. Even today, games of this quality are not made very often, especially in the strategy genre.
Sorry, having played many strategy games and years ago a number of the Total War games, this is drivel. It isn't hard or difficult, but it is made impossible by the computer moving your pieces or generals without you asking. It is wonderful seeing your general head out from a defensive position, on his own to face an enemy army, you never asked him to do. Very poorly designed A.I.. If it looks like you are winning, it basically cheats its ass off. You find enemy ships appearing in impossible locations, enemy armies knowing exactly where you are weakest all the time. There is zero logic to this and I am miffed at wasting the money. The game feels, not entertaining like Shogun, but more like trudge of work and more absurd surprises.
NOT reccomended for newer systems, game is unplayable for windows 11/12th+ gen CPUs. NAPOLEON, EMPIRE, & MEDIEVAL II all need remasters to work normally on newer Systems/Monitors.
