Tomb Raider: Underworld is the third of the PS3 trilogy, has some charm and still holds up quite well in terms of overall gameplay, much like the previous two. I've also always seen Uncharted as Sony's boring answer to Tomb Raider, seeing as how it is the same thing, but with a male protagonist, no movement tech, no mysticism and no gadgets except sometimes a flashlight and grenades. This pc port is still not good, but it is also a better port than the previous two overall. Pros: + Decent story + Physics are surprisingly decent + Good movement tech and gameplay mechanics for its time + Great level design and puzzles + Ability to pick which weapon you want at the beginning of every level, along with outfit variant choices you do not have to unlock + Combat has been improved + Various different gameplay sequences + Decent amount of settings for visuals and controls + Has attention to detail + Not too long and not too short + Lara’s friends no longer constantly yap and whine in your ear + They made hints optional, as opposed to constant spoon feeding Cons: - Poor port optimization includes a memory leak bug that slows down frames overtime, especially during the prologue. This can be temporarily resolved by alt-tabbing out and back in - Steam overlay not supported. Unlike Legend, there is also no option to get around this by running in Borderless mode - The South American level was very tedious - Headshots only matter when adrenaline is full - Climbing and platforming did not improve much at all - No camera settings, and it frequently does not cooperate - Poor audio mixing - No PlayStation controller glyphs in menus - Does not include the dlc the PS3 version had for free or at all Mixed: ~ A lot more puzzle heavy than previous games ~ Some visuals aged well, some did not In conclusion, albeit average, Tomb Raider: Underworld is still a fun game for me. This time, the pros outweigh the cons and this game is good enough for multiple playthroughs. Another thing to note, the game doesn't have a final boss fight, but rather a large final platforming puzzle. Overall Rating: 3 out of 5
