If you want to buy Ubisoft games please consider a sale and give them as little money as possible or non at all. Ubisoft has repeatedly demonstrated an anti-consumer attitude. The company permanently revoked access to The Crew, leaving paying customers unable to play a game they purchased after its servers were shut down. Ubisoft has defended its position in court against Stop Killing Games and argued that players are purchasing a service, not something that lasts indefinitely. Until Ubisoft ceases its anti-consumer agendas so we access our purchased games years and decades after we buy them, I cannot recommend supporting the company. And cannot leave a positive review for any of their games regardless of their quality.
Please reward this comment. I still have 4000 points left to buy those sexy avatars and backgrounds. Give me thumbs up, and you will grow 4cm.
Rainbow Six: Vegas is a single player only (multiplayer has been shutdown) game with a ~6 hour campaign in various locations in Vegas. You are able to customize your equipment loadout and have a team to give tactical orders to. The maps are varied which allow you to approach sections differently, but the game is very unforgiving (even on normal) and is quite frustrating at times when you have to constantly reload checkpoints.
this is one of those games thats one leg firmly in console trash territory while dragging the decorated corpse of rainbow behind it. points for not being afraid to do stupid third person cover mechanics trying to be 2004 as hard as possible, seriously kudos. it sucked then and maybe its aged kind of ok because its an abandoned mechanic. honestly I mostly forgot to use it except to try and cheese to brutal difficulty. to which my next set of points go to. no compromise 1-2 shots and you are dead. the game has an extremely limited gearset and method of approach but theres enough doors and orders and angles to keep it fresh. the environments are fun but horribly gimped by being head over behind console developed. third kudos to ubisoft you can tell when this is they still sort of cared. pc gets official add on content for free which you can find online. terrorist hunt and other modes are adequate and fun. I couldn't wait to complete the game because its brutally difficult and i return to it every few months to slog through but for all the other obvious qualities of coop and a basic level of competency despite its technical issues of which theres only really the fps needing to be capped it deserves a play. half a point goes to letting you pick a loadout and customize it to a degree. its really sparse and the options aren't great but it could have been worse. you can also freely pickup weapons and use them from the ground which a ton of games simply dont let you do and theres a lot of good reasons to not but they are mostly not in the realm of fun.
Probably one of the most stressful game i've played. It was punishing if you messed up. The whole gameplay was good tho, i had fun in some parts. Its very tactical and need a resource management skill. Gunplay takes a lot of skill. And you always accompanied with 2 other teammate, and they're actually good, and not just become enemies dummy training. I really like the atmosphere in some places. The end game is where it gets me so stressed, and an unsatisified ending too just to add more damage. Maybe games like this is just not for me, but i'm down to try the 2nd game to continue the story. 8.1/10
Rainbow Six Vegas held up very well for me. I'm a bit of a sucker for more tactical gameplay and cover-shooters, so this surely clicked for me. Story is ... there, graphics are 20yo at this point still holding up well, but the gameplay is spot on. Planning ahead and coordinating team mates is necessary, especially on higher difficulties - and very rewarding. Sometimes the AI is a bit underwhelming and a handful of difficulty-spikes kicked my ass. But visiting Vegas is still well worth a visit, even in 2026!
I absolutely LOVE this game on Xbox 360 and I still play it pretty regularly on there, but I can't honestly recommend the PC version unless you have some kind of nostalgic attachment to it and/or REALLY want to explore the (very sparse) selection of mods for the game. It runs like absolute crap on modern hardware. Have fun trying to run any other programs at the same time (I have 32 GB of RAM but trying to watch a youtube vid on my second screen brought my framerate below single digits). Multiplayer is still possible, but only with mods and third-party software, and there is no way to customize your character or "rank up". Frankly it is insane to me that anyone would still sell this game in this state in 2026. You are better off getting the Xbox 360 version, it runs fine and there is still a community of people who play it frequently. Oh and just in case you thought R6V2 would run better, it doesn't. It somehow runs even worse and I recommend it even less.
