I'm going to be frank: I didn't have many expectations for this game, I got it because I wanted a puzzle mystery game, and this game was on sale for five dollars, when it's normally 10 bucks. I don't know if it was the graphics, or if it's because I'm used to super ornate but mechanically simple puzzle games, but I didn't have many expectations beyond "it's hopefully not gonna be glitchy, and hopefully it'll be chill."
However, this game went way beyond my expectations, and I feel like a heel for being so dismissive. The singular rooms make it easier to navigate, the story was more sci-fi, which I like and is a pleasant surprise to me, and I like how it navigates and moves. I like how it's encouraged to take notes and photos, instead of the game just doing everything for you, and I like the art style a lot. Plus it has two easter eggs I like, one making fun of a cybertruck ("it must just be a prototype"), and one referencing a childhood TV show ("the lab rats must've escaped, I wonder what they'll be doing tonight"), which I find amusing.
Overall, it's not the most difficult, but it's not overly simple. The graphics are simple but good, so your computer doesn't chug. The rooms have a lot of little facets, but they're not super complicated, so it doesn't clash with the art style. Lastly, it has a lot of content to it for a 10 dollar puzzle mystery game, which I appreciate a lot, it's like someone took an entire sci-fi novella and made it into a game, which I like. If you like Big Fish Games, and you like the art style of Dredge, I recommend it, and if you want a fun yet chill mystery game, I highly recommend it. Overall, don't let appearances fool you, and don't assume, as it made an ass out of me. :>
The only quibble I have is that the scroll sensitivity with your mouse is a bit of a pain, it barely moves, so you scroll down with W and S. It's good for if you read slowly, but I read in chunks (not flexing, it's just a fact, and no shame if you read slowly, you miss fewer details, which is a flaw I have), so the slow scroll rubs me the wrong way, but it isn't a deal breaker.
