About

Farm the world in an immersive top-down management game. It's up to you if you prefer to experience a rich strawberry harvest in the French countryside or if you like farming in the hot sun of South America. Choose your farm’s location anywhere on a real-world map and become a Global Farmer!
Based on real-world data from OpenStreetMap, you can play anywhere in the world. Explore your own neighborhood from the perspective of a budding farmer, or try to become a successful agriculture magnate conquering the world.
Build your own farming infrastructure with things like storage facilities, parking for your vehicles, paths to get around your farm, sheds for your animals and many more. Purchase a variety of equipment inspired by real-world agricultural vehicles and implements.
Various environmental factors influence the growth and success of your crops: Daily changing temperature, sunshine hours and rainfall make up the requirements of optimal crop growth. Nutrients (NPK) and the soil composition further influence the growth and success of your crops. Investigate different field values and choose the most effective crop rotation. Plant the correct crops in the right areas, manage many different fields in parallel and watch your income increase.
Construct barns and sheds for 3 types of farm animals. Assign fields as pastures and make sure that your animals stay fed during all seasons and temperatures by moving them between the green grasslands and your warm farm. In return, they will reward you with profitable milk, wool and eggs.
Struggling because you live in an area with little data? Use our level editor and create your own unique field maps based on the real world OSM data. Afterwards you can share those with the community via the Steam Workshop.
Ready for a challenge? Try to cultivate various crops across different continents. The weather and pricing will adapt according to the precise coordinates you select, reflecting global real-world data. Soil conditions, including texture and pH levels, will also vary depending on the region chosen.
Perform contract work to increase your revenue by delivering goods. Handle your resources wisely to fulfil orders on time. Take on increasingly challenging contracts and earn more money.

Honestly this game has potential, but its not worth the price. majority of the crops dont have matching equipment. there are some filter options that should be added and the game CRASHES every few minutes. save your money this game isnt it.

So much potential. A lot of frustrating problems. We need bigger equipment. some guidelines on workers or machinery per hectare. As soon as larger fields are acquired everything goes haywire. southern hemisphere climate is way incorrect. would love to see this game reach its potential.
Isn't very intuitive as a game, immediately overwhelmed with information, and ultimately the game play loop doesn't seem all that enjoyable. Not saying its a bad game, just isn't for me.
I wish steam has an option to place a neutral comment. I recognise that this an early access state game and I don't want to be negative but I can't recommend this game as for today. At the start of the game, I was asked to place my farm building, you need to press R to rotate before placing. I don't know how to explain this. I press R 5 times, the building rotates maybe 2, maybe 3 times. Maybe none. And there is a weird feature. You place your farm. You buy your fields. But once you want to buy a storage facility or tractors or implements, you need to click on your farm building and you go to another map and place them there. So you don't park your tractor next to your field. You park it inside the alternative reality -or multiverse maybe- of your farm building. Devs! there is one guy over there with many ideas running through in his head. Just don't listen to him that much.
At this point, this game seems rather simplistic. The satellite map data adds a layer of interest, but not sophistication. The lay of the land seems to matter relatively little, and once you factor in the general climate, it seems like you can plant just about anything that will grow remotely well and turn a profit, even on hard mode, as long as you spam the fields with water and fertilizer. At that point, management becomes a whack-a-mole process of simply staying on top of your field conditions. The other issue is that tree crops like olives are planted and harvested just like grain and other crops. This seems like a big miss, since wheat grows in months and olive trees can stand for centuries. I shouldn't have to re-seed them, or even get to re-seed them, once planted, Nor should they yield fruit immediately. That's a realism-breaking issue IMHO. This game shows promise but there's a long way to go before it becomes a sophisticated reflection of farming or management.
Even though the game had a rough start, i had a pleasant entry into the game. With the newest features added, it was a great feeling to start at my hometown, draw fields and start farming in an familiar area. The game gets lack luster after a while in regards of content and gameplay, there are still bugs and smaller performance issues, but for an early access title its main promise already worked for me and i am happy to see how the game proceeds. If you want to a more polished experience you probably should still wait a few updates before purchasing it.
Global Farmer by Thera Bytes GmbH and published by Aerosoft GmbH is a farming simulation that sets itself apart through an ambitious and unusual concept: giving players the ability to establish and manage a farm almost anywhere on the real-world map. Instead of relying on pre-designed regions or fictional landscapes, the game draws from global geographical data to generate playable environments, allowing players to experiment with agriculture across different climates, terrains, and conditions. This idea immediately gives the game a strong sense of scale and uniqueness, as it shifts the focus from a single farm to a worldwide sandbox of possibilities. The gameplay emphasizes management and planning rather than direct control of farming equipment. Players oversee their operations from a top-down perspective, making decisions about where to build infrastructure, which crops to grow, and how to allocate resources effectively. This approach places the experience closer to a strategy or tycoon game than a traditional farming simulator. Expanding a farm involves constructing facilities, organizing supply chains, and ensuring that production runs efficiently, creating a loop centered on long-term optimization rather than moment-to-moment interaction. One of the most compelling aspects of the game is how it integrates environmental factors into its systems. Crop growth is influenced by real-world variables such as climate, soil quality, rainfall, and temperature, all of which vary depending on the chosen location. This adds a layer of realism that encourages players to think carefully about where and how they farm. Certain crops thrive in specific conditions, and understanding these relationships becomes key to building a successful operation. This system adds meaningful depth, as it forces players to adapt their strategies rather than relying on a single approach. The global scope also introduces a sense of variety that few farming games can match. Starting a farm in one part of the world can feel very different from starting in another, as environmental conditions and economic factors influence how the game unfolds. This creates opportunities for experimentation, allowing players to test different strategies across a wide range of locations. The idea of building a network of farms across the globe adds an additional layer of ambition, even if the core mechanics remain consistent. However, while the concept is strong, the execution does not always fully support it. The interface can be difficult to navigate at times, with certain systems lacking clarity or intuitive design. This can make it harder to understand how different mechanics interact, especially for new players. Technical issues and occasional bugs can also disrupt the experience, breaking immersion and making long-term planning more frustrating than it should be. These problems do not completely undermine the game, but they do highlight areas where refinement is needed. Another challenge lies in the overall depth of the gameplay loop. While the environmental systems and global map provide variety, the core activities of building, managing, and optimizing farms do not change significantly as the game progresses. Tasks can begin to feel repetitive, particularly once players become familiar with the basic systems. Contracts and objectives help provide direction, but they often follow similar patterns and do not introduce enough new mechanics to keep the experience evolving over time. Visually, the game takes a practical approach with a top-down perspective that prioritizes functionality over detail. While the environments are based on real-world data, they can appear somewhat simplified, lacking the visual richness that might be expected from such an expansive concept. The presentation is serviceable and keeps information clear, but it does not add much to the overall immersion. Sound design is similarly understated, providing ambient background elements without becoming a major feature of the experience. Despite these limitations, there is a clear sense of ambition behind Global Farmer. It attempts to expand the scope of farming simulations by tying gameplay to real-world geography and environmental systems, offering a perspective that feels both educational and strategic. The idea of adapting farming techniques to different parts of the world adds a level of engagement that goes beyond typical genre expectations, even if the implementation is not always polished. In the end, Global Farmer is a game that stands out for its concept but falls short in execution. It offers a unique and interesting take on farming simulation, but it struggles with interface design, technical stability, and long-term variety. For players who enjoy management-focused gameplay and are intrigued by the idea of global agriculture, it provides a worthwhile experience with moments of genuine depth. For others, its rough edges and repetitive structure may limit its appeal. Rating: 6/10
