About
A small adventure with a big story. Theropods takes around 2-3 hours to finish. Perfect for an afternoon or a relaxed weekend.
Wordless point-and-click adventure — no dialogue, no subtitles, just animation, sound, and visual storytelling.
An unlikely friendship in a hostile world — a wordless story of bravery, trust, and survival.
Brains over brawn — outsmart dinosaurs, distract barbarians, and puzzle your way out of deadly situations.
A vivid prehistoric world — trek through jungles, valleys, canyons, caves, and wild dinosaur territory.
Gorgeous hand-drawn pixel art brought to life with cinematic frame-by-frame animation.
An immersive soundtrack blending tribal rhythms with eerie sci-fi synthesizers.
A glowing stone crashes from the sky into a young hunter’s village. Its arrival draws a bloodthirsty tribe, who attack the settlement and enslave her people.
Barely escaping into the jungle, she discovers the stone’s true origin: a stranded spaceman whose damaged pod depends on it.
Together, this unlikely pair must cross dinosaur-infested lands to free her tribe and find a way to send him home.
Theropods is a classic point-and-click adventure built around visual logic. Watch how characters move, how creatures behave, and how each scene changes as you poke, prod, and experiment.
Instead of fighting your way through danger, you solve your way through it — distracting predators, avoiding enemies, triggering reactions, and finding clever ways past situations too dangerous to face head-on.
Theropods replaces dialogue trees, long conversations, and text walls with gestures, expressions, sound, and visual storytelling. The story unfolds through action: what characters do, what they notice, and what changes around them.
With no subtitles or text-heavy exposition to translate, the adventure is built to be understood by players anywhere in the world.

Lovely feel to the game and story, and gorgeous pixel art. Enjoyed it but I did get stuck quite a few times! I was playing on Steam Deck at launch, before there was any info on compatibility (but I’d seen some indie developers sharing photos of them playing on Steam Deck so decided it must be at least playable). I don’t know if that meant I missed out on any controls (I couldn’t find a way to reveal all hotspots to check I hadn’t missed anything, but that probably just wasn’t something available in the game). It’s very minimal, with no language, which means it can be hard to properly understand what’s going on or identify things accurately. Early in the game I had no idea what an inventory item I’d picked up was (a stake) which makes it hard to come up with ideas for using it! Another time there was an interactable item immediately above someone’s head that I missed because there was no gap between the hotspot of the person and the item above them in the scene - I assumed the hotspot was all person. These are tiny nitpicking things though, it’s a fun game that I looked forward to playing and recommend!

Fun short point 'n' click featuring cave people, dinosaurs, and a crashlanded space person! Would love to see more from these devs. Highlights: - Colourful environments and creatures - Lots of neat sound and music - No pixel-hunting required! If you're ever confused, you can highlight the interactable areas. - Puzzles mostly tread that difficult line between too easy and too obtuse. I enjoyed being allowed to work things out without some companion telling me what to do whenever I was stuck. - I liked saying hello to everyone in the village :) Could be better: - I'd love to see more complex multi-step puzzles, and bigger, more complex areas to explore in any future game(s) the devs might want to work on after this one. - I think I'd like more quiet moments to spend with the main characters. The beginning area with the village was a good example of what I mean. I thought that hide-and-seek game was brilliant idea, and really worked for the pacing. Same with the hunting puzzle just after that. - This may be an odd nitpick, but the coconut-eating noise in the bamboo area felt strangely out of place compared to most other sound effects. Maybe too loud? Maybe the wrong sound? It made me appreciate how good the other sounds were, because this was the only one that felt wrong in the entire game.
Really fun pixel point and click adventure. No dialogue. Alien and human becoming friends and fighting some dinosaurs.
Lovely pixel art cinematics. Super proud of the team, I was a kickstarter backer and it has really been a nice thing to follow the development. It really felt like the game has always been here. Theropods and The End of Oak Street really made august the dino month of 2026. I was a big fan of the narrative and those climactic scenes really felt like they had weight and they simply look beautiful with all the detail and fluid animation. Score and sound design deserve great props, fully transporting us into this prehistoric environment.

Very charming and lovingly designed point and click. So far not the hardest difficulty but definetly worth your time. Try it if your desire for another point and click adventure has grown big enough. Recommended.
Perfectly designed. Each puzzle is an independent scene, made of 2 or 3 screen and 2 or 3 objects. Yet, they pull it off. Each puzzle is a REAL CHALLENGE. Not a single obvious click. Every step comes with a of of thought. The story is very rich too. I would say this game is 60% puzzles, 40% story.
