About
A small adventure with a big story. Theropods takes around 2-3 hours to finish. Perfect for an afternoon or a relaxed weekend.
Wordless point-and-click adventure — no dialogue, no subtitles, just animation, sound, and visual storytelling.
An unlikely friendship in a hostile world — a wordless story of bravery, trust, and survival.
Brains over brawn — outsmart dinosaurs, distract barbarians, and puzzle your way out of deadly situations.
A vivid prehistoric world — trek through jungles, valleys, canyons, caves, and wild dinosaur territory.
Gorgeous hand-drawn pixel art brought to life with cinematic frame-by-frame animation.
An immersive soundtrack blending tribal rhythms with eerie sci-fi synthesizers.
A glowing stone crashes from the sky into a young hunter’s village. Its arrival draws a bloodthirsty tribe, who attack the settlement and enslave her people.
Barely escaping into the jungle, she discovers the stone’s true origin: a stranded spaceman whose damaged pod depends on it.
Together, this unlikely pair must cross dinosaur-infested lands to free her tribe and find a way to send him home.
Theropods is a classic point-and-click adventure built around visual logic. Watch how characters move, how creatures behave, and how each scene changes as you poke, prod, and experiment.
Instead of fighting your way through danger, you solve your way through it — distracting predators, avoiding enemies, triggering reactions, and finding clever ways past situations too dangerous to face head-on.
Theropods replaces dialogue trees, long conversations, and text walls with gestures, expressions, sound, and visual storytelling. The story unfolds through action: what characters do, what they notice, and what changes around them.
With no subtitles or text-heavy exposition to translate, the adventure is built to be understood by players anywhere in the world.

This game has a very nice look and is very charming but the gameplay drags. I don't believe this game is worth its price even on Sale. No offence to the Devs. I want to give this a thumbs up because I do like the passion behind it.. but I have to be honest. There are a lot of other point & click games out there that offer more and cost less. One that came out recently was The Silver Crow. It's a very high quality P&C for a great price. Theropods is ok, it's just too expensive IMO. I play some of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbjIy1BDNpE&t=3099s
Randomly saw launch trailer for this game yesterday and got interested. I like the pixel art and characters. I like the visual storytelling here. After completing the game I think a lot passion has been put into it and hope these devs will have the means to create more awesome games. What I think could have been better is having multiple endings (at least I only found 1 so far). Or some alternative paths. I think there could have been interesting paths to explore with the premise and story bits we got. As for puzzles they were nice and contained but something like new game + with new choices or puzzles that have elements progressing multiple areas or scenes. Summary: While the game isn't perfect it's charming. I'll give it 8/10 as it was fairly enjoyable experience

Fun short point 'n' click featuring cave people, dinosaurs, and a crashlanded space person! Would love to see more from these devs. Highlights: - Colourful environments and creatures - Lots of neat sound and music - No pixel-hunting required! If you're ever confused, you can highlight the interactable areas. - Puzzles mostly tread that difficult line between too easy and too obtuse. I enjoyed being allowed to work things out without some companion telling me what to do whenever I was stuck. - I liked saying hello to everyone in the village :) Could be better: - I'd love to see more complex multi-step puzzles, and bigger, more complex areas to explore in any future game(s) the devs might want to work on after this one. - I think I'd like more quiet moments to spend with the main characters. The beginning area with the village was a good example of what I mean. I thought that hide-and-seek game was brilliant idea, and really worked for the pacing. Same with the hunting puzzle just after that. - This may be an odd nitpick, but the coconut-eating noise in the bamboo area felt strangely out of place compared to most other sound effects. Maybe too loud? Maybe the wrong sound? It made me appreciate how good the other sounds were, because this was the only one that felt wrong in the entire game.
Several aspects of Theropods piqued my interest and convinced me to wishlist it and play it immediately; in those regards, I am very satisfied! One of them was the setting. There are very few pnc games set in the era of the dinosaurs, and I have long waited for a spiritual successor to Simulmondo's Time Runners. While other dinosaur pnc, such as Zniw Adventure, are cute and cozy, Theropods is quite brutal in its premise. This is no Land Before Time, and it is certainly NOT a family-friendly adventure. Our Amazon protagonist is surrounded by enemies, from rival human tribes to famished dinosaurs, and the game does not shy away from showcasing the visceral terror of that era. Idyllic sections of peaceful community life appear occasionally, but these only serve to contrast the unfolding tragedies. I remained intrigued throughout the game, genuinely worried about whether my two playable characters would survive until the end or end up as a pixelated puddle of guts. The other reason I was so interested in this game is the fact that it contains NO text. There are no words in the menus, on the screens, or in the dialogue. I wondered how a wordless narrative adventure could tell a story, but the visual storytelling is excellent, making the entire experience feel more raw and visceral. The game is not perfect, and a few aspects left me dissatisfied. The resolution felt too abrupt, ending just as things were becoming more interesting, and the runtime of 2/3 hours is quite short for the long development time and price tag. Additionally, I struggled to identify which objects I was picking up; while the hand-drawn graphics are beautiful, they lack detail and sharpness, and the large pixels made inventory items difficult to recognize. The gameplay is linear, requiring players to solve each screen or sequence to proceed. There is no hand-holding, and the number of inventory objects is kept manageable. I found the progression spontaneous and intuitive, and I particularly enjoyed the "fighting" puzzles. However, players should be aware that objects can spawn in previously visited locations, making backtracking necessary. The game features two playable characters: the Amazon and the Spaceman. I found the latter to be significantly less developed and underutilized, until the sci-fi concept is entirely dismissed in a twist I will not spoil. I certainly recommend Theropods, but manage your expectations: it is a short, experimental adventure blending sci-fi and dinosaurs that can be completed in a couple of hours. Because of its length, you may want to consider waiting for a sale. *** FOR THIS AND MORE ADVENTURE GAMES My Steam Curator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43938467-TheGamingMom/
Theropods captured my attention a while back due to its striking art design and blending of genres, but I wasn’t expecting for its story to have such heart. The bond of the two protagonists feels genuine as they fight to protect other and discover their inner strengths while battling dinosaurs, vicious barbarians.
It's... fine? Nothing super innovating with the point and click genre. It's fine, but it does get a little frustrating with some of the multiple location puzzles. And needed items just appear in places where you have been before with no clue that you need to go back and get them. The gimmick that there is no dialogue, while technically true, doesn't really hold up. Yeah, they aren't saying words in a language we know, but it's still pretty clear what they are "saying". It's an unnecessary limitation that is cute at the beginning, but gets old fast. Since there is no "It's fine, but nothing great" middle thumb, I'll give it a Recommend. Get it on a big sale if you really like point and click adventure games.
