About
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with Onbu and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Continuously adapt your village as you travel through a multitude of different biomes, each with its unique climate zones, opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artefacts.
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

A very cute city builder with some valuable lessions on how to live in harmony with nature. The music is great. If you like Ghibli movies such as "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind", you will love this one. That said: I got about 15 hours of decent gameplay out of it (means: 15 hours in which I actually experience something new and do not just replay), but I personally think that is just the right amount of time for the concept.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Definitely easy to see where the developers got their inspiration from. A pretty good game with an interesting world. The laid back feel of the city builder is kinda balanced by the rush to get everything done. So far less than ten hours: 8/10.

An adorable city builder with a bangin' sound track/design and scratches that: "build a mobile fortress against the apocalypse" 10/10 no notes

Honestly a really nice and simple game to introduce beginners to village builders. Very wholesome. The artstyle is simple but charming to me. Curious to unlock more lore and interactions
It's a good game. I have most of a problem with the fact that it tries to replicate a studio ghibli style, it isn't original at all, rather lazy too. Especially since the style doesn't fit in with the game at all in my opinion - which just makes the game feel like they're just copying Hayao Miyazaki's style because it's popular and not because it fits in the game. The story doesn't feel fun at all to me and I haven't found myself particularly caring towards the story or the characters, but the game is plenty fun when not playing story mode.
I actually really enjoyed this one. The style and feel of the game really is studio Ghibli, and the intro makes that very clear. I found the building interesting, especially near the end when you've used up most of your free space and you have to start fitting stuff in the space you have. The game mechanics are all sound, they work and follow typical citybuilder fare, with the overworld mechanic and managing Onbu as a result. I really enjoyed following the storyline, even though it is not very complex, I liked the twist near the end. Simple and effective writing and it is functional to make you move towards certain sections of the map. The only thing you should know when going into The Wandering Village is that it is a rather slow game. There is no stress and sometimes it is just managing a well running village, sending out some glider parties here and there and waiting until Onbu reaches the next crossing. This slowness was exactly what I needed right now, but if you're looking to be on your toes, this is not it. It is very relaxing and slow-paced, which makes it an excellent break between all the more punishing survival games I enjoy playing a lot. So: I recommend!
